This was SUCH a great interview. I'm now binging Jon Acuff. His book Finish is speaking to my "recovering perfectionist" soul. PLEASE do another interview about Soundtracks. That's my next read. :)

Please have him back!! I literally finished listening to Soundtracks yesterday. I couldn't believe when I saw your Podcast featured him this week! How fun! Totally going to start a best moments list with my family. By the way I sooo enjoyed getting to meet you, Sarah, at the GHC in Texas this year and finding we were wearing pretty much matching necklaces was a fun bonus! The whole experience is definitely going on my new best moments list!

Loved this, and would definitely love to hear Jon talk about more books/Soundtracks. Very long story short, at 17 I was part of a support group for dysfunctional families (with mostly 40-somethings). It taught me a ton. I agree wholeheartedly that internalizing good soundtracks when you’re young is very beneficial ❤

I needed that encouragement that kids dont need to get so single minded on their preferred craft at the time. And that we should let them experiment with different things like coding and teaching them how to run a business. We do those things but they feel pointless to my kid who loves writing so it just helps to know she does need this exposure.
