The pistons do come "out of the hole", but the added head gasket is .066 thick to provide the necessary clearance. The pistons also have extensive valve relief cutouts on the top.

wow, i have never in my life ever heard of a 2.6, i have seen anywhere from 2.0 to 2.4, but it seems like you are playing with fire pushing it all the way to 2.6, congrats man and good work. personally, i have had, 2.1, 2.3, 2.4 and 2.0 in my life of DSM builds, i like my 2.3 setup, which is what i have now, the most. But i really really don't think you are gunna find anyone with knowledge on tuning a 2.6 anywhere, so all i can say is good luck, and i wanna see some vids from the shootout plz

Damn nice build. Do you by chance have a more in depth build list on a forum or some where? Looking at doing the same thing to my MM.

That crankshaft looks like from another oem engine it is 100mm or 106 and from what engine?
@jeffm2612 жыл бұрын
ummm...just a question: Why would you run a 3" MAS instead of just running a Speed Density setup???
@dMacStyle12 жыл бұрын
The crank is from an old Mitsubishi Mighty Max pickup truck. AWD is probably a good idea when you have that much power!
@dMacStyle12 жыл бұрын
This 4G63 engine build has been quite the experience, come see the car in action at the 2012 DSM Shootout! Check on dsmtuners in the classified for sale section, there are sometimes good deals on engine parts.

seems like a very noisy motor...was the knock sensor picking uo alot of noise? crazy build and im suprised u used a gm maf and dsm link and not speed density aem. crazy build lol!

This is not an OEM crank. There are multiple companies that sell this part.... Graveyard Motorsports and Brian Crower are just two to name a few.... At the time of building they were very rare and not readily available, but now BC sells a 2.6L kit look it up on his website.

Is that the 106mm Crank that DSMGraveyard offers. for the "Torque Monster" Engine. I wanna run that in my 92..but it prolly be pointless for a FWD..make a nasty roll car tho.

Did you use a stroked 4g64 block with a 4g63 head or did you machine the 4g63 block to fit 4g64 stroker internals? If you used the 4g63 block is it still strong after taking off so much metal to fit 2.6l internals? Great build. Glad to see people still building nice DSMs.

Looks awesome. I'm just getting into this kind of stuff but any advice for a guy thinking about building a car from scratch (Just a body and add on EVERYTHING from there)? Thinking of getting a 2g type II Eclipse body for like $300 to $500 from a salvage yard and using the 4g63T for about 300 ish hp. Nothing too out there just modest hp (modest as compared to 500+ hp that people want me to do).

What seats are those?
@tonkatoytruck12 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Without a billet end case, 300M output shafts, case bracing, etc., you would definitely find the transmissions weak links. Then the differential, then the drive shaft, ..........well, you get the picture.
@tonkatoytruck12 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that you have decided to part the car out. Sounds like you had a lot of money in the car. Nice parts list although our 6g72's had problems with the cometic head gaskets. Did you have any surge problems after you got it tuned?
