Those barriers are new, long and bouncy but great!👍🏻

Thank you 👍 These barriers are actually really old. They are likely to be around 40 years old around this time!

Wow, those barriers are very bouncy❗️👍

Yeah they are. They're also some of the oldest in the UK, like the half barrier ones from the Hornby models

Now this is one excellent video of a great-looking level crossing! Those are my personal favourite kind of barriers - such a shame to see them in such decline these days. Nice alarm combination too - the closest one sure is pointing at and interesting angle (it suits the retro equipment quite well IMO) - all this as well as a nice quiet-looking country lane! I'd definitely consider visiting here if I'm ever over that way again, especially before the barriers do go. Awesome catch of the HST too! 👍👍

Thanks very much! 😁 It was great to film another set of crossings with these barriers as the last time I filmed a set was probably at Paignton South. Was a nice location too, although cars can still be heard on the main road nearby. Was very glad to see some CrossCountry and Great Western Railway HSTs running throughout the evening too 😁

I hope those barriers aren’t replaced
@UKLevelCrossingsChannel4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I hope not. The barrier arms didn't look that old so I suspect they've been replaced a few years ago already

very nice barriers, hope NR dont replace them, i liked watching the mechanics of it lifting, are there many of these in the country?
@UKLevelCrossingsChannel4 жыл бұрын
Well they probably will get replaced eventually but I'm glad I've managed to film them whilst they're all still installed and working. These barriers are very rare now. Only a couple in the North and Midlands and a handful in the Western regions. None in the south-east. There's a few that were replaced last year and there's a couple that'll be replaced by the end of this year.

Judging by the shiny bolts on barriers I would say they have replaced not that long ago so I can't see that equipment being replaced anytime soon.
@UKLevelCrossingsChannel3 жыл бұрын
Yeah quite possibly. I do believe they have / make barrier arms for spares in-case any get damaged. The actual barrier hydraulics and mechanism is very old though, and loads have been replaced over the last several years.
@billyshearer14 жыл бұрын
Wow, so the barriers came down almost 5 minutes before train passed?
@UKLevelCrossingsChannel4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it was an average of about four minutes before a train passed whilst I was filming here. In another video, the crossing was lowered for 9 minutes for only two trains to pass.
