How in the hell did they keep from choking up when playing this epic tribute to their fallen brother? I’ll never know, and I’ll always be grateful to Steve for the riffs, and Def Leppard for keeping his memory alive. My 2nd fave DL track. 🤘🤘
@michaelcorcoran87689 ай бұрын
Honestly I think it might be harder to play some of the other songs that he had a larger hand in writing. Stand up, for instance, is largely a song based on his licks. Tonight, stand up kick love into motion, have you ever come a heaven is, tear it... Co wrote every single one of those on those album. In that sense I think stand up probably is the song that makes me think of Steve the most even though he doesn't play on the album. Because we now have access to all the demos of him playing it.

It's a great song written about Steve and addiction but unfortunately, the song is too long for radio and at the time it would have flopped as a single. When this album was released the music scene was rapidly changing. Almost any band associated with the 80's hardrock/metal scene was quickly becoming uncool. Should this have been released as a single? No. I do believe "Heaven Is" should have been released here in the US as well as in England instead of "Make love like a man". It doesn't matter, the album still did well albeit not as good as their 2 previous mega albums but it did great for its time.

No promises, no guarantees When you come down here You're already on your knees You want to ride White Lightnin' Then sign your name If you want to dance with the devil You gotta play his way, play the game You gotta taste that sweetness Cause you can't say no But are you ready for the nightmare When you can't let go Like a soldier of fortune When the money runs dry You got rivers of bitter tears, in your eyes You want to leave but you can't let go You want to stop but you can't say no You'll never laugh about it You just can't live without it You had enough but you just want more You never get what you're lookin' for You'll never laugh about it, never You got both ends burning You're like a moth to a flame You're going off the rails Like a runaway train It's a no-win situation And there's no way out And no one will ever hear you, scream and shout You want to leave but you can't let go You want to stop but you can't say no You'll never laugh about it You just can't live without it You had enough but you just want more You never get what you're lookin' for You'll never laugh about it, never Run, he's coming to claim you Run, nowhere to hide away Run, oh, you dance with danger Run, oh, you gotta ride the White Lightnin' On a dead end street White Lightnin' Where the deadbeats meet White Lightnin' It's a one-way ride White Lightnin' Oh, there's nowhere to hide Such a lonely road you ride It's not easy when you don't know why Such a heavy load you hide You never leave no matter how you try Run, he's coming to claim you Run, nowhere to hide away Run, you dance with danger Run, oh, you gotta ride the White Lightnin' On a dead end street White Lightnin' Where the deadbeats meet White Lightnin' It's a one-way ride White Lightnin' Oh, there's nowhere to hide Such a lonely road you ride It's not easy when you don't know why Such a heavy load you hide You never leave no matter how you try White Lightning Can you feel it, can you feel it? I’m a guitarist. This is an epic song about an epic guitarist with a mortally epic struggle with alcohol. Very haunting without being scary, but just a rhetorical call to get off that path before it’s too late. I feel sad for Steve Clark’s girlfriend who found him on the couch that terrible morning and just knew he couldn’t wake up. Read the account and I just choked up 😭 💔

Adrenalize, while not as classic as Pyromania and Hysteria, is still a solid album, but this is easily the best song, and a fitting and fiery tribute to their fallen band mate, Steve Clark (1960-1991).🔥🤘👍🎸🎶❤️
@michaelcorcoran87689 ай бұрын
Honestly I think pretty much all the songs Steve wrote or had a hand in writing on adrenalized are excellent. I just think the ones that he had no hand in writing tend to be a little weaker. Make love like a man, let's get rocked, personal property and white lightning and I want to touch you are the five songs he didn't have any hand in writing. Of course he was the subject of white lightning. But those other four songs to me are definitely a tear or two below. This weekend I would argue there probably the worst four songs on the record.

Great video from a great tour. I wish they could get the best clips of this tour and edit it into a concert Blu-ray. Anyone that plays live will tell you that not every show is perfect, but if they taped enough of those shows, I'm sure a concert movie would be a totally cool must have.✌

I wish I was 16 here instead of now, I can see why my mom was a die hard Leppard fan, well I mean she didn’t like adrenalize and still doesn’t (she doesn’t like anything after hysteria) I really think they should add this song back in the set, I’ve noticed that once they stopped playing the tour in the round in April 1993 that white lightning then disappeared from the set, i then also read the band were trying to close the door on the Steve Clark era of the band, made sense but still I think it’s about time its brought back for a revival

Oh they definitely did it a lot on the adrenalized tour. 7-day weekend tour I guess they called it. They would announce a little tribute to him. And then afterwards they would give a little speech about how they lost the great friend but they gained a new friend and they would introduce Vivian solo.
