RARE EMD F7A Passenger Excursion Train in TN - Tennessee Central Railway 819's FINAL Run of 2021

On December 18, 2021, I took part in some good, old fashioned railfanning at the Martha Station along the Nashville & Eastern Railway, just off of Highway 109 in Lebanon, TN. Today, we are spotting one of the Tennessee Central Railway Museum's last excursion runs of 2021, featuring their flagship L&N 819 F7A, which is a FORMER Bessemer & Lake Erie F7A used for shipping iron ore, originally built in 1952.

That's cool that you're somewhat of a train guy as well as an avid NASCAR fan (I'm both as well). I highly recommend the Strasburg Railroad in Lancaster, PA. A trip from Tennessee, yes, but definitely worth it. They use pure steam power up there.

as someone who lives like 30 minutes from Strausburg i xan confirm i even saw 611 in july and i also live near the Middletown and hummlestown railroad its mostly shifter diesels but it did have engine 91 sisters of strausburg 89

Right before RJ Corman took over officially, they ran a "rare miles" excursion from Nashville to the end of the line in Monterey, unfortunately I found out about it the day it was happening or I would've 100% bought a dome car ticket.

Awesome catch bud! I caught the afternoon return trip of this train in Donelson just by a hair. This run is unique since 819 got a mixed cast P5 horn on these two trips. Most likely the only time you might see it with that horn.

I'm a BIG train fan, and I believe there is still some original Warbonnets out there. I still see some Warbonnet Dash 9's on occasion via Virtual Railfan. And these are actually Santa Fe branded, not BNSF fake bonnets.

@@DannyBTalks that’s great too hear! Here in CA, we only see them GEVO’s and sometimes GP60M-3s, but on occasion we get ATSF and BNSF Warbonnet C44-9W’s and Even NS DPUs

You need to check into it I found an old pamphlet from my grandparents his house where they used to take the train from Suffolk Virginia to Rockingham to the races the train was stopped right outside the racetrack

To look at awesome; but, as having rode one of their excursions trains the scenery isn't much, a few crossings, many trees, and Nashville is one nasty, filthy city.
