*RARE* FedEx A380 Transportation Fleet Set Daron Realtoy Review

A new rare Daron Realtoy model for my collection, the FedEx A380 Transportation Fleet Set (large airport playset)!
The day this video was posted marks 3 years since I first started my KZbin channel! Im so thankful for everyone who has really helped my channel grow and have given so much support over the years, thank you 🙌!
I recently got this model off of eBay for around $80 and even though it may seem like a fake or fictional model, it actually was a real model Realtoy and Daron introduced and was intended to be a real aircraft!
FedEx ordered between 6-10 Airbus A380 aircraft that were set be be converted to freighters and were planned to commence flights in 2008-2009 but was later cancelled after just 1 year of placing the order. In 2006 FedEx cancelled the A380 order due to delays in production of the aircraft. Ultimately, the A380 would have to undergo many modifications to make it suitable to be a freighter aircraft, which is very costly. In the end, the overall benefit would be less than the costs and effort to build the aircraft.
The model I have featured in this video is the original FedEx A380 Realtoy produced and was actually one of the first A380 models Realtoy ever made! This model was released in 2005 only as a large airport playset and is 1 of 2 different FedEx A380 models!
Even though the model has several features that make it much different and unrealistic compared to other A380 models, it’s definitely one of my favorites and I’m so glad to finally have it in my collection 😁.

I have had realtoy planes before, specifically united 747, Delta 757, Jetblue A320, Southwest 737, AA 777, FedEx 777, Alaska 737, UPS 747, Air Force One 747.

I remember seeing an American A350 model back in 2017 when I went to the California Science Center, also I played this one simulator on Roblox with the same plane and airline. Recently I was wondering what happened to the American A350s, turns out some time later I now know they cancelled the orders. It's a shame they looked really nice

As you say, my understanding is that unlike the B747 which has a nose door, allowing straight through cargo loading onto the main deck, the A380 layout prohibits this. Then you have the issue of side only cargo loading into upper and lower decks, both requiring major strengthening. Amazing that Airbus neglected the freight market in the design phase.

I think Daron resold the set after the A380 was discontinued was because children did not know much and they wouldn’t care. It also might have been that they mass produced the set?

I think that could be a reason why it was sold long after FedEx canceled the A380 ordered, being mass produced would be a good explanation!

The minivan you showcased that has the FedEx Kinkos label on it is the Ford Windstar, an old minivan Ford has since discontinued production since 2007 (when it was known as the Ford Freestar in that last generation).
