This is footage of a variety of tanks. The tanks shown at the end going through the crater were specially prepared with lead lining to protect the occupants while taking soil samples immediately after the test. Enrico Fermi was in one of the soil sampling tanks.

These are the sounding rockets fired before the detonation, whose smoke trails distortion observes by camera was used to determine the yield of the gadget (bomb).

Around 3:19 the white artifacts on the film pick up greatly - is this due to normal film damage or damage from radiation?

How certain is it that this isn't footage of practice runs? I don't see the bomb crater and the ground looks unscathed, weeds and all.
