This one’s a boondoggle! Looks good, but is an expensive flop. 😒 We would have been better off investing in upgraded Cruisers which are at the end of their life cycles.

@@brainwashingdetergent4128 way over budget, about $500k for each missile fired, only 3/29 were built and since the whole program was over budget as I stated they axed the program. I'm glad they canceled the program but hopefully another type of ship is named after Michael Monsoor. After jumping on a grenade in Ramadi, Iraq in 2006( I think) which saved at least 1 or 2 other SEALs, he succumbed to his injuries. I don't usually get teary eyed but listening to that story my eyes must have been as puffy as the Michelin man. Edit: I also heard that the entire program was the Navy's most expensive mistake in their history.

Ok so this destroyer is unbeatable because it has hidden missiles and also in the war time enemy will have no prediction that usa is using which missile in this destroyer

The radar signature is no bigger than a small fishing boat and the armament could vaporize a city. During war time though the stealth would be not necessary as it would be an escort vessel to the carriers.

Not really, it can still outgun any other ship in the water. The problem is it was too expensive, but that's what happens when you build a modern version of a battleship.

Unnecessarily expensive and redundant? Yes. Useless? Not at all. It’s design could literally do everything better than the previous Burke destroyer (which is arguably already a freaking powerhouse internationally) in all aspects. Modern technology like Stealth and advanced laser guidance systems are just scratching the surface of the Zumwalt, and don’t forget that the ship was built to have tons of space for future integrations of newer systems. The only flaw of the ship was the fact that it was too ambitious for it’s age.
