Common, take a look at "hercules" on the ps1. It is a nice little generic beat em up long after the golden age of arcade that intigrated a little semi 3d scaling, with a fantastic artstyle if you are a bnb fan.

This game looks so fun! If it had been released, it certainly would have been one of the biggest drawing arcade games of 1996. It's repetitive like all beat em ups were, but it captures so much about the show that it rivals Konami's licensed arcade games. I particularly like all the various voice clips. Also, it looks to me like the game was complete and even had an actual ending (which prototypes don't) but Atari decided to scrap it at the last minute.

the galloping ghost arcade in Brookfield IL has a playable machine of this just added recently. according them, 12 prototype machines were made. theirs was sold at an mtv auction in the late 90's to some private collecter or something. Also, i take it that this machine is close to a twilight zone pinball, as i have heard the slot machine eject sound multiple times in the background.

I would be a fan of it being dumped and released to the general public. Although, we cant play arcade games on real hardware and emulators yet! There is no "insert coin" button on the 3do system, so the games run but you cant play them.

Not only that, it's processor is twice as fast and uses more ram and rom than the original 3D0. So it's like a custom 3D0.

Yeah I enjoyed the Genesis version at the time but Virtual Stupidity on the PC was the closest to the cartoon and very well done. Check it out if you never played it. Shame this arcade version was never released, I really want to play it.

Pimphand Gamester You're welcome. The game was designed to run under Windows95, so it may be easier to run it under ScummVM rather than get it to run under DOS using Dosbox.

Instead of emulating a specific PC environment for the game to run off of, ScummVM replaces the game's executable files that it would normally run off of. The game's resource files would then run through ScummVM. Of course, not all games are supported; it's mainly point-n-click adventures from various developers, particularly LucasArts and Sierra. But, Virtual Stupidity is one of the games the latest version of ScummVM can run, and without having to run a virtual PC environment running Windows 98 within Windows 7 just to do it. If the aim is to just play Virtual Stupidity on a modern computer, then ScummVM may be an easier way to go about doing it. And, it's free.

No. Atari was the publisher. It was intended as an arcade game but wasn't released, probably because it was bad and by 1996 beat-em-ups were already way out of style (and Beavis and Butthead's popularity was already waning).

I loved B&B, but this game looks terrible. Now, if Konami or Capcom made it, it would've been superb. Imagine if Capcom utilized their side scrolling formula like they did for Punisher and Final Fight....oh damn. It may have been a successful release.
