I had a Sunday job when I was a ten year old lad, working at the Rams Brewery in Wandsworth. My job was polishing the brasses and helping to dress the beautiful Shires there. I would say that was the best job I have ever had

Great horses and apparently wonderful people preserving them.

Heavy horses fascinate me! I wish so much I could feel their muscles working, or pet one. It's so fun to see them at work!

There are plenty of places to see them. Why not go to a fair or horse show? Look on line and find someplace nearby.
@ellenyx9652 ай бұрын
@@FarmFreshIB I do see them. I go to agricultural fairs. Generally they dont let people touch the horses though. With good reason. Just was commenting to help the algorithm.

I'd love to own a Suffolk, over here we have powerhorse competitions which is all about draft horses and I'd love to show off a suffolk there. Maybe one day

Our Missouri State Fair has a big draft horse section,,many breeds of gigantic animals, but have to say possibly the most powerful kickers,,,would be the (BIG) Red Mules, they get irritated at people trying to touch them in the Mule Barn,,and when they've had enough (BOOM) they kick the pen wall,,shaking the entire huge structure it's impressive! (thankx C.F.P)

Isn’t that Cheryl Clark (now Grover)?
@Dave.w-ev9qn19622 ай бұрын
Well if you been judged by Cheryl then you will know where you are!🙂 She has forgot more about working horses than most of us will ever know. Heavies are a very expensive but rewarding pastime. But if you have never ploughed with a good pair of horses, you haven’t lived really!!🙂

@@Dave.w-ev9qn1962 We had a long conversation when she was staying with a friend who owned Suffolk Punch horses. She had many interesting stories to tell, was tremendously knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour.

@@fburton8 Remember watching the videos that where made when she was married to roger, the skill and knowledge they both had was inspiring! I’ve been lucky to have spent time with old horsemen hear in cornwall, That time is gone on now I’m afraid.

The narrow chests and hind ends in the Shires/Percherons/Clydes bothers me.

No Clydesdales🤔
@fburton82 ай бұрын
Because the show is in England and Clydesdales are from/in Scotland? Just a guess.
