THANK YOU James Leav and Steve Remote for this RARE gem of a video! I'm in my dad's driveway in Brooklyn I'm 1984, recording for Elektra Records, my new single with my dearest friend Michael Rudetsky. Elektra hated the track and they dumped me.. lol But a RARE look back then! I was only 23! Enjoy !

How great to finally have a face and voice to Michael Rudetsky. For years, I just heard his name as that of the young musician who died at Boy George's mansion. This is superb footage of this talented musician. Cheers.

This is amazing. I was a kid when I had the record Man Parrish- Man Made, Hip Hop Bebop, Heat…something I can’t remember that song name. I had no idea how they or he looked. Cool!

@@manparrishstudio950 Wow i like this. Mann Parrish replied. You should know how we here in the Netherlands went crazy for boogie down.The synths, your voice, your flow. i have your pink/orange record cover along with some others on the wall in my room. it was truly a shock to me to see you. I thought Mantronix was the only white boy in the scene in 85. I may be a little emotional but you made my day my brother. I'm almost 50 and so many old school rappers have passed away, it kinda frightens me you know. And that's why I'm glad I got to see this day. You have been a part of me and our (your fans) childhood. So yeah im happy. Thank you for this moment. please stay safe and healthy. Much much much love from The Netherlands.💞 Ps one more thing, I don't see any interviews with you, i went to Unique Access Ent. on KZbin to ask them if they want to put you on the show, i really really like to hear the story behind Boogie down Bronx. But i don't know if you like to do interviews.but that doesn't matter because you're here! Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

It would be really interesting to understand the workflow of that era in producing and composing these tracks! I see a couple of Valley People Dyna-mite compressors (great on drums, my favorites) and other nice outboards on display but I can't figure out what kind of mixer that is! Beautiful video by the way, too bad the audio is mono.Thanks for this gem Man!

I really love your track "Heat stroke". It has been one of my all time favourites since a long time now. Before I knew it was made by you, I thought it was by Giorgio Moroder :-) that said, you have your own distinctive style that sets you apart. Some very futuristic and cosmic sounds, great vocoder/robotic voice lovely back up vocals by girls, very rare kind of song in it's category. I really love this song.

You probably won't remember me but I hung out with you and Michael a little bit in London when you stayed at the hotel I was night manager of back in 1984 (Clarendon Court Hotel). I met Mike again briefly when I moved over to NYC and worked in Bleecker Bob's later that year. I was back in London in 86 when I saw in the paper he had passed. Anyway, just saying hi. Had a great couple of days with you guys back then. Cheers. Adam

Hi Nebbs! How are you? Actually, I never went to London with Michael. He only went once and the time he did is the time he passed away at George’s house. Other than me working with Village People or man-to-man (and that was after Michael’s passing) I was in London to Dj for the queens Jubilee. Otherwise I wasn’t there. Wish I was and wish I got to meet you! Sounds like you had a great time!

@@manparrishstudio950 Thanks for the reply! Wow, that is really confusing, as I'm sure we met in London in 84 when I worked at that hotel. We went on a trip down to Carnaby Street and over to a recording studio in north London, too. I just dug out my old address book, too and you're both in there...very strange!

@@nebbs Hey… That’s crazy but I very specifically remember never going to London with Michael. In fact, he “snuck away“ when he went to London and then passed away at Boy George‘s house. He didn’t want anybody to know he was working with George. George had previously bailed on paying me for studio time, and I told Michael if he ever worked with George again, I would never work with Michael. Michael snuck away to London and didn’t tell anybody to work with George. That’s why I wasn’t physically there with him. And we all know what happened on that trip. Michael had only been to London once. I did dj’d at a hotel in London for the queens jubilee. I don’t know the name of it. Could that be what you were referring to?
@nebbs
@nebbs 2 жыл бұрын
@@manparrishstudio950 Yeah, no I quit the hotel business in 84, and left England permanently in 1987. Oh well. It's a mystery.

@@nebbs Hey... Do you mean Paul Zone from Man2Man maybe? My very first record didn't come out till 1984. If you were out of the business by then or 87 from London, I wouldn't have been in England yet [ I was a "nobody" with a first release.. lol. Well anyway.... wish we met, you sound cool !
