Very nice video I've been playing this game for almost 6 years now and the only apparel I've ever gotten from any of these events was the responders fireman helmet and funny enough I got it from doing Drop connection in the cranberry bog..

I've gotten the responder fireman uniform and the red asylum. The responder dropped randomly from something (it was before I knew that rare apparel even existed), and I grinded 8 hours for the asylum.

It took me YEARS to actually get the red asylum dress but last month I finally got it. it spawned in the shower room in a private world which makes it rarer still because usually private worlds don't spawn dresses as often.

I found my traveling leather coat in the whitespring mall vendor about a year ago. I was quite shocked think it was around 100 caps. Bless the person that sold it. Obviously it was a mistake or they thought it was junk 😅

Bethesda would make tags or colors how rare items are. Because new players or player like me skiped many of them. Also will be cool if we can put lock on items to prevent scraping.

7 year vet here. This is a very good indepth video. Yes, at one time, it was fun to hunt down rare outfits. If the rng is kind during an event, I'll take it and normally just give it away to a collector. Unfortunately, the rarest in game apparel was duplicated in the masses during an exploit many moons ago, so these days, I prefer collecting rare misc items and items like nuclear winter weapons and extremely odd stuff. So on paper, yes, outfits are considered [rare] in a drop. But if you're going by the population of these things, they aren't technically rare. Now something like a headless sledgehammer. Now we're talking 😅

Regardless of his time travel capabilities...he's not wrong on the overall point. The older apparel that's ultra/extremely/very rare or however you want to call it was duped en mass. At multiple different times. So yeah it's extremely rare to actually go and get a leather coat from a mire event...there's probably more leather coats on people's accounts than active players. Substitute leather cost for responders fireman outfit or bos jumpsuit and you'll get the same result. Someone I used to play with, he has long since quit, at one point in time he had hundreds of each of these "ultra rare" apparel items on his mule character. Now the glowing fasnacht masks are a different story as there was not an active dupe going on since those have been released...at least not a widespread well known dupe.

I got hella lucky 2 days ago when I logged on in the middle of the night. Managed to pick up the Responders Fireman Uniform for only 4k caps, and a Glowing Blue Devil Mask for 28k caps from a level 200. I was and still am thrilled!

I got the forest camo jumpsuit from farming collision course during spooky scorched, and have gotten the jumpsuit bundle 3 times in 5 years. The last time I got it was for a mutated mole miner event , a couple months ago. I felt it was wrong to hoard so many BOS jumpsuits so I traded one to a friend for an explosive mod lol

I have at least two of each asylum apart from red (not even one yet).Received a tattered field jacket a few months ago at heart of the swamp mutated event and another a week ago same event but not mutated. I only ever received one glowing mask (honey bee) and two hags from literally almost a few hundred events. Ended up buying glowing scorchbeast. Love the collector aspect of the game though. Just received plan for gladiator mask, never seen it before, is it rare? It’s cool regardless

@@MoldycheeseJr In my case, I only saw one player in his camp for sale but I had him at 10k caps... He has missed a minimum zero when typing the price. Too expensive. Which, is a rare outfit and aesthetically with the hat is a must be. 👌

@@tommygreenberg293 Easiest way is to server hop on public at the Asylum and just run in to check, if they are all dirty just leave them in place. There are two in a room beside the elevator and I used to check to see if they were both dirty or worn and usually had more luck finding a clean one upstairs when they weren't the exact same.

1. It's designed to waste your time with artificial rarity. 2. All the "super rare" stuff, looks so bad. Honestly, people have awful fashion in this game, because they want to wear things that other people don't have, but that's besides the point. Just wear what you think looks cool or unique, and for the love of god don't waste your time grinding for some of these things.

@SakiWilson That's my point. Why? Why do you like rare things. It's especially important to ask when many rare things simply become things that you pay for. OR, Making things rare will make more players play for a longer time, more engaging with the content and online community. However, this is disingenuous, as it's not an actual reflection of the game, or people even enjoying the game, it just looks good for server numbers and public perception of the game's popularity. Most importantly, instead of actually making the game run better, less crashing and bugs, or even making more content to play, the company instead chooses to waste their own time and the players by, again, artificially inflating the content with the rare item grind.
