5:40 Certain cat breeds have a genetic mutation affecting an enzyme required for melanin production. It causes the enzyme to stop working at warmer temperatures, so the fur will be white on warmer parts of the body and dark on cooler parts where the enzyme still works. A Siamese cat’s coloration is basically a heat map of its body. The cat’s shaved patch likely grew in dark because the area being shaved let body heat dissipate quickly enough that the enzyme still worked. It’ll probably go back to being white once the fur has been grown in for while.

True colors of the Mona Lisa kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHXGdJibiMpoe7s A researcher checked out the colors, added time to the equation, figured out original colors. The Louvre gave him access to the painting during one of the routine check ups (he has impressive credentials) and without touching the painting he photographed it in immense, exacting detail, digitized. Mona cannot be cleaned. Leonardo continued to add paint over decades, with experimental paints he was trying out. The Louvre tried to clean her one time and the restorer discovered the VERY mild cleaner he used removed colors too. That's called "skinning". He stopped immediately but the damage had been done. Never again. She's now just a historical artifact, not a work of art.

@Sufiya H. Yep Cancer is an extremely emotive diagnosis and most people just want to be rid of it ASAP, which is a fair call. The problem is even if the Dr's do give them that information the patients can only hear the word Cancer so they either don't hear anything over cancer or they do hear but again cancer trumps any other info they are given. It's kind of the same with other chronic illnesses as well.

They still don't need to be so overpriced. The BILLIONS of dollars big pharma rakes in comes from a lot of regular, hardworking people who are just trying to survive. If the execs at ONE pharmaceutical company took home $10 billion a year instead of $15 billion, it would literally eliminate the problem of people having to choose between just giving up and dying, or surviving but bankrupting their families. I’ve been there to unload horses from a plane it’s pretty crazy. They get unloaded with a skid steer, then a federal vet inspects them and their papers and observes them being loaded onto a trailer, they then “seal” the trailer with a thin cable, so if the horse is unloaded before its destination the seal will be broken. 😎
