Pre-EoC was when i started to play RS. My friend showed to me and i slowly felt in love for the game. A played it 2008-2012, when the EOC comes out and a decid to quit. The most happy part of my life is connected with this game, i just have no word do describe how this game change my life. Nowadays a play OSRS, it's cool, i'm rlly enjoying but it's not the same thing. I miss this era, if a could back to this days, i'd just do it.

They're not really OP though because you spent more time in SC than the double xp would pay for. Also pre 'bonus xp' you would've had to use the tools and such, which wasn't as efficient as say a d axe or d pick axe.

Man, pre-EOC still feels like just yesterday to me... Although I started playing RS in 2005, I quit around 2008 and didn't come back until 2011 - by then it felt like a whole new game. When I came back in 2011, I was no longer a kid, and didn't live at home anymore, so I could play as much as I wanted - and so I pretty much no lifed the game for the next two years, getting my max game just before EOC in 2012 (I quit again soon after that)! At that time in my life I had heaps of anxiety, and going outside and being social was really hard for me, and I think connecting with my friends over skype and playing Runescape was what got me through those otherwise lonely days. Like when I think of 2012, all I think of is no-life-ing runescape for a max cape while finishing off my Science Degree. I used to LOVE the Runeshark videos, and their God sword set from scratch series was my favourite (it was basically Iron man before Iron man came out). It's so strange to think that this was all 8-9 years ago now, and none of the people who were my closest friends at the time and who I never even met in real life quit long ago. I actually have a whole bunch of videos from that era on my other youtube channel, which are super bad quality, but very nostalgic to me.

Whats funny is that’s actually what the community asked for )in regards to starting a non-eoc server/worlds) was 2010 rs however jagex said they only had vanilla 2007 runescape saved in there servers along with classic. So implementing anything after those wasn’t impossible but surely would cost them more money than the company had at its disposal at the time.

I'm not gonna lie man... these were the years I played the most I also did play a lot of eoc as well. When I was young and played for the first time killing goblins across Lumbridge I had no idea what I was doing... pre eoc and eoc were the years I actually learned things about the game and progressed a ton. Now as far as 07's release which has now developed into OSRS.. I've never loved the game more. Honestly all versions of RS hold a special place in my heart and always will.

I started playing in 2008. This era was my heyday, I think its a time of RuneScape that really never gets talked about. 2010 was literally some of the best times I ever had on RS. Somewhere around 2011 the graphics started getting too far away from the old game and I stopped playing when the Dungeoneering gear made all the old gear obsolete. I remember when i was 11 back in 2004 seeing an ad on miniclip which made me play for about a year. Returned 2010-2012 and then 2016-present and i actually had the most fun right before eoc! I remember the system update as i was slaying giant spiders and when i logged back in all gear had a new appearance and combat was different. Love the nostalgia-trip vids buddy!

I've been watching the last 4 videos and man has it brought back memories. Today it's all about max sets and having the best of the best, back in the day people wore fashionscape to train slayer or kill lesser demons in karamja just because it was fun. I actually remember my first rune med helm drop, boy that made my whole week. Players today dont understand how different it truly was. I miss those old days. As a tribute to myself I collect rune med helms. My account has about 42 days played and from my slayer grinds I currently have 123 rune meds lol. I remember sometime in 2011-2012 I found out one my classmate started playing runescape too, when he had his leg broken, so one afternoon we were kind of messing around near Gielinor, and we agreed to have a look into Wildy cos he wanted to show me something "really cool". So as I was a veteran player (still a noob) I kinda knew what to expect, so I stockpiled on some food, got my rune chainbody on (didn't have dragon slayer done) and we went together to wildy to see the cool thing. We went to some level 30 or something like that, and I see my classmate attacking me in full rune, and considerably better stats. I ask him"What are you doing? stop that! " and he just laughed and continued to own me. However, as he was quite new, he didn't know you should bring food to Wildy, so I started eating the lobsters and retaliated. Slowly, I killed him. And got his full rune. And we were not friends anymore.

I remember starting to play RS in 2003 until 2006 when the Xbox 360 came out and played at lot of Xbox until 2009 and I remember coming g back to RuneScape and they had changed the health bars and HP became constitution.. I played then until 2012 when the ruined it with EoC.. starting playing OSRS again last year when I found out about Ironman and have never looked back. Although I am 25 now I can’t see myself playing this game forever but like people say.. you never quit this game.

Maybe its just semantics, but I consider "pre-eoc" from late 2010 to late 2012. 2008-2009 was a very different feel imo. 2010 was around the time I noticed people starting to sweat for efficiency and bis. The game was still pretty casual post 2010 but definitely the beginning of what the RS community has become. That being said, 2010 was my favorite year of the game lol

I got back into Runescape in 2017 via OSRS, last time I played previously was probably 2008. Had an interesting time finding out what features were/weren't in OSRS, spent a few hours trying to recall where Fist of Guthix was only to find out it isn't in OSRS. Was definitely a lot of fun! I remember the spiked shield being the equivalent of Barrows for F2P (BIS but had a durability). Would really love to had HD graphics, then again I really enjoy the Old School graphics.

been playing since 03. Comp caped a year before eoc. Ill say that 2010- the end of the era was the best period of RS. Nex on release was completely different than anything the game had to offer. Dungeoneering was actually fun. the game had meaning and the community was so much more diverse than it is now.

Pre-EoC was the best version of RS. Absolutely loved it. Could easily play for 2+ hours

I remember BonBloc's rushing video just after the wilderness had returned, where he would Teleblock innocent high riskers or rushers and korasi spec + spec transfer them into hell.

Fist of guthix was such a fun game. I always played it in free to play worlds due to the simplicity of the pvp and not as large of an equipment gap. When it was your turn to hide and charge the stone location had two effects. The first you already said it's the rate the stone charges and the further from the center the less your stats were handicapped. My tactic was to run circles around the outside of the ring and when my opponent finally caught up to me they were usually also out of run energy. So I'd teleport to the center while they slowly walked there racking up enough charge to usually win. Maybe one out of ten games my opponent stood no chance of killing me. I'd sit on the outside and keep killing them often leading to them quitting the match.
