Doing the tour is making realize just how many plants I actually have. :O Even with part 5 here, it feels like I may never finish the tour! Probably have about 2-3 more parts to go. I'd like to stay focused as much as possible on the tour until I get it done, but I will probably have a few unboxings and other vids in between. After the tour, I have so many other fun things to share. Thanks for watching and subscribing!

You've done a fantastic job of curating some of the most exotic species of beautiful plants. Very well done! Thank you for sharing as always. It seems that housing tropical species in grow boxes has virtually revolutionized plant keeping. It undoubtedly has for me. The efficiency, stability and economy of the grow box system is unbeatable.

the "b" in 'subwassertang' is actually the german letter ß, which is written/pronounced in english as a double s, like in the german word for street, which is straße or strasse. so it's sußwassertang/susswassertang, which means 'sweet water seaweed' (sweet water in german is freshwater in english....'freshwater seaweed').

Since it's been so long since I started that, and I have moved, and my entire collection has changed vastly, if I ever decide to do a tour I will be starting over completely.

The flowers on that pepperomia at 1:30 looks like P. fraseri, but the immature foliage looks quite different!

YAY! I love your plant tours! And all your content actually. Please keep doing what you do. I recently read your article about collecting mosses outside and it changed my perspective. Oh my god! Subwassertang is a FERN gametophyte that is so freaking cool! I have a pot with what I though was a liverwort growing in it ( it's been close to a year now) and I started growing fern like leaves, so it was actually a fern gametophyte, I wonder what species it is... Do you think subwassertang will grow fronds eventually?

Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you love my content. Yes it sounds like you had a fern gametophyte. It will take a long time before you can identify it (probably at least a year) since immature ferns don't typically look like their adult form. Someone just informed me that Subwassertang is actually supposed to be Susswassertang (sorry for misinformation). It usually does not produce mature fronds, but I believe in extremely rare cases it will do so when grown emersed.

@@AnotherWorldTerraria the b in "subwassertang" is replacing a german letter. But it's pronounced susswassertang!

i love this series! you sure have loads of plants lol. i recently got some mosses locally which i believe is octoblepharum sp, do you know the best way to increase them? are they slow growing type?
@AnotherWorldTerraria
@AnotherWorldTerraria 3 жыл бұрын
Octoblepharum is tropical and subtropical species, so if your climate matches, it might be possible. They do best for me in medium light levels, moist but well drained (orchid mounts, moist wood, etc). Depending on conditions it may grow slow or medium-fast

@@AnotherWorldTerraria thanks! do they grow upward or spread? my specimen looks quite thin in thickness so i'm not sure
@AnotherWorldTerraria
@AnotherWorldTerraria 3 жыл бұрын
if it's Octoblepharum it will spread across the surface like a blanket, horizontal or vertical
