I know this is an older video, but I would love to get my hands on a few of these fishies. I'm not worried about breeding them, I just think it would be cool to have about half a dozen in this 55 gal I have set up with nothing but guppies in right now.

Just moved my first round of fry to a new tank, the pair has spawned again. Only got 3 fry out of the first round. They are breeding in a 10g, I had some inconsistencies personally at the same time as the first spawn and atribute that to the low count to that. Was hoping to move the whole colony to a 29 before more babies but didnt make the transfer. Definitely up there in one of my favorite cichlids

Just found this video and glad that I did! I have 5 individuals and finally have two that have paired off. They recently bred in my mixed community tank and I'm planning to move them to another tank and try again, I'm pretty sure the male missed the fertilizing step the first go round 😅

I have 2 Torque's jewel And 4 red jewels. I don't know if I'm saying the name correctly But that was the name it was given to me in the pet shop when I got them. If you do not want these fish to breed keep them separate cause the torques and the red jewels will Breed i have hundreds of babies in my planted tank. Before anyone goes nuts on me I did not intend to do this I just bought them they were beautiful and I Add them to my community tank next thing hundreds of babies.

I think it's great they bred. You will be able to see the best of both species as they cross.

I have 2 families and I’m trying to figure out whose mom and whose dad. One fish in each tank hides while the other tends to the fry. Any suggestions?

Wonder if they would be ok in a planted community tank. Lots of neon green tetras, cardinal tetras, Chilli rasboras and neon tetras.

Those fish are too small and would likely get eaten. Fish like Congo Tetras and other larger fish would be fine with them.
