RARE Vector Avtech WX-3 Twin Turbo Engine Start Up & Acceleration Sound

The Vector W8/ Avtech WX-3 is an American supercar produced from 1990 to 1993. It was manufactured by Vector Aeromotive Corporation. A total of 22 automobiles were produced by Vector Aeromotive over the life of the company. The car originally sold for $448,000 new, however on today's used market, they are available from $389,000 to well over $1.4 million depending on the condition of the car The W8 had an estimated top speed of over 220 mph (354 km/h), with an acceleration of 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.2 seconds.[4] However, in testing at the Bonneville Salt Flats, the W-2 prototype reached 242 mph (389 km/h) with the less powerful Donovan block.

God I love that car! This one is actually called the Vector Avtech WX-3. It's a prototype car that was made just after the W8. Two were made, one coupe and one roadster.

For those who don't know, this monster is capable to reach 0-60 in 2.1sec. It was made and inspired by Aeromotive bodyparts and Mr. Weigert want to create the car as much as possible to look like a fighter jet, which in my opinion he achieved that 90% ! This is a masterpiece of design. I think the value of this car should be around 30-40mil $, considering there's only one in the entire world !

I remember seeing this very Car at a Knott's Berry Farm Kit Car Show out in Buena Park, Calif some years ago!...I Also, got the Pleasure of meeting Gerald Wiegert the Designer of the Original Vector W8 and this Teal Green Vector WX-3 Prototype as well!...When you see this Sportscar up front and Personal it is very Impressive!...I am Just Saying!...God Bless America! 😇

I want to get a model of the M12 and repaint it in that color. That color and the other WX-3 with the Diablo SE30 purple paint are the best possible colors for that car. You can't find a more '90s paint color than those.

This car had zero influence from the Diablo and was instead a natural evolution of the Vector W8. You may be confusing this with the later M12 which had a diablo motor and was a bastardized Vector after Megatech (who owned Lamborghini) did a hostile takeover from Weigert, stole his nameplate and created rebodied Diablos that vaguely resembled this car. The WX3 was lightyears beyond the M12 and the Diablo, both in tech and performance.

I don’t understand why the lambo at home team absolutely butchered the looks of this thing to make it the M12, surely they could have kept it as is when its not even that different. Not the W8, THIS was when the bozo's from Asia took over Vector in a quite aggressive way. they fired the man behind Vector and basically put Lambo Diablo parts under the styling (they also bought Lamborghini back then), which killed Vector as a company. Truly a shame, the W8 however was an epic car, the only supercar with true jetfighter philosophy behind it's build. If you ever have the chance look at the gaps between panels on a W8 and try to remember that you could buy it in 1991. Vector Aeromotive W8, no joke.

What went wrong with the Vector was first; insufficient long term financial backing. But that wasn't the real reason for its demise. Jerry Wetgert didn't know just how bad and corrupt the Automotive press worldwide and for that matter the general U.S. media was. So the automotive press is going to be hostile to any U.S. based exotic car. Thats a given because of the mindset that ONLY allowable producers of vehicles above a certain performance level Should have a Europeans origin. Or at least somewhere outside of the basically crude and vulger Americans. This view goes back to the sports car snoids right after WW2. Jerry didn't know how to deal with these jerks. What he SHOULD have done is NOT turbo'd a nice 350. He should have shoehornd in a GM BIG BLOCK. Thats right, turn it into a absolute Roth Rag. Nothings more American than that, right? That would have caused a total world wide grand mal.Let them howl (and shake in their boots) world wide. Nothing like a potential 1800 hp plus to send a message..and change the reference points forever.....
