This song saves my life more than any other, turns hell on earth into the funnest moment I've ever had every time I hear it.

My favourite Pogues song and a great version. MacGowan, on form, is one of the best lyricists. Currently reading the James Fearnley book so thought I'd check out some oldies.

Amazing. Great energy and a great song. The Pogues were the best from the very start. What a great band, the lot of them.

Goes to show (me), his lyrics are calculated..... as they should be, and it makes him the great songwriter that he is. I mean, the lyrics aren't just laid down, they're worked on until the final version. Listen to the Boat Train Demo, great lyrics, but the "song" is probably better on the album, when it all flows.
