this song is about the battle of addiction and judging by his choice of words I'm gonna assume it's alcohol and weed(which isn't really a bad thing) and maybe even meth or heroin "the smoke that engulfs his lungs" it's the never ending cycle of wanting so bad to quit and saying tonight is the last night finding yourself in tears thinking about all you've done and lost for that high but still you have to do it anyway and for "a moment he's at peace" but he realizes "over and over this shit fucking kills him" it's a beautiful song and alot deeper than most realize. I love this band they actually have something to say not just cliches and pretty rhymes I'm just ove two years clean and sober and this song right here sums it all up and hits close to home. anyways I hope this helps:)
