Rascal Mini Bike Top Speed | Tillotson 212cc | Go Power Sports

We've been having our fun with our new Rascal mini bike from Go Power Sports and thought it was time to put it and our stage 1 Tillotson 212cc to the test and establish a top speed. So that's what we did. Up next is stage 2 and a torque converter and we'll run it again.

I did a speed run on my yerf dog with a stock 420 and I got up to 35mph offroad today but my seatbelts are too small and don't fit so I don't want to upgrade the motor to get faster until we get new seat belts that fit. My goal is to do 45mph.

Try a different gear ratio I got my bike from 25 to 40mph just off a gear change

Stage 2 with the performance upgrades I'm gonna guess you may get close to 60mph and really be moving. Also if that engine rotates in a counter clockwise rotation,which it looks like it does, I would suggest retarding the timing of the new cam by 2 teeth. Doing it will give you a bit of low end torque and a higher top speed.

We you run the mental math I was playing with on screen for real, 7000rpm would be just over 61mph haha. That's a great call on timing by the way. I'm hoping the key for the new flywheel will take care of that. We have offset timing keys for the 420s when we go to stage 2 on them too eventually😈

U can make a stage 1 do at least 50 it's all about gear ratio. Change up the gear and u will do better no problem

You are both completely right. 35mph is top speed of our OG set up, but we got plenty of room😏

Yep my stage 1 does 45 at 4000rpm. The gearing calculator says I should be doing 36mph! When I put the 12 tooth sprocket on it should do around 54-55. Edit: The bike is a mega moto 212 with stage one.

I say 55mph -- the math says stage 2 will bring it up to 60ish, but I think the current tires will slow it down a little, as will the front suspension that we're going to throw on there (+5-10lbs maybe)

What about a stage 3? Because I was told that with the the Tillotson 212 with a stage 3 race engine, that it would get me up to more like 70 mph, because I thought maybe like 50, that's when he said, no, more like 70! I was like, really, he yes.
