I'm American and I absolutely loved the Coronation! I watched with my parent's and I too almost had happy tears when William spoke to his father and kissed him. It almost looked like King Charles was going to have some happy tears of his own. PW and PC and QC all looked so flawless and Anne is such a favorite of mine. Truly admire her always. To me this was all about King Charles and Queen Camilla and all the Royals that we admire and love. A great and fantastic day for Britain, the Commonwealth and the rest of the world who celebrated with you!!! It has nothing to do with M and H, nor did we pay him any attention. When I was watching with my parents, they remembered watching HMTQ coronation at such a young age. Didn't she rise to the challenge!! I was watching in the Pacific time zone. The coronation began at 3 am here. I began watching at midnight. Still, the actual coronation time flew by as if it was a 20 minute show. And Princess Alexandra seems to be quite frail at the moment, I think the reason she was standing between Edward and Sophie in the official photographs was because they were both helping her to stand. I appreciated Angela Levin's common sense approach to labeling Prince Louis very well behaved for a five-year-old. I've been a little distressed by the media's labeling of him as deliberately cheeky or mischievous when he's merely acting like a normal child his age. In response to the 'terribly white balcony' I listened to a post from someone of colour and she thoughtfully wrote a brilliant response to this. I will not do it justice, so will paraphrase, she was basically saying she was outraged that white people cannot be proud of their race. She is free to be proud of her heritage, her skin beautiful dark colour, her curly hair and that white people should be able to feel the same pride. That there is a difference between inequality, racism to being naturally proud of your heritage whether you are from Scotland, Iceland, Ghana, Egypt or England. She went on to say how sad it wld be if there were no pale skinned beautiful redheads in Scotland, or dark haired, white skinned asians. You get the drift, each country has a predominant DNA look and that should be celebrated as much as diversity is. Its all important, it all should be celebrated. I think she has done us all a favour by standing up so eloquently as we are tslking about it.

It's "Diversity" when its in the West (Europe, U.K. , America or even Australia & New Zealand) ...but it's "Colonialism" in the rest of the world ...except maybe for a few places that are truly 'diverse' like Singapore, & other large cities of the world. National character disappears at some point ...a sort of 'vanishing point" of diversity if you will. In which case if everyone intermarries then you get a totally new national character & presumably a new race. In America I've stopped asking what people's ethnic background is long ago (my grandparents were part Cherokee & Choctaw) ...not so much because I might offend ...but because the list becomes so long that it loses distinction. Some people are emerging that are almost ethnically undefinable because they are so many different things. Mexican people are a blend of Indigenous & European (usually Spanish, but also Irish, German, etc.) ...yet many do not want to claim their 'Native American' heritage because of the historical bias against the Original-Peoples. After awhile ...you just don't ask. Having lived in Indonesia and experienced what it is like being a minority in another country, I think that is sad ...because I have always been interested in culture, history, and family dynamics. In the end, we just have to look at people as individuals and not so much as "groups" ...whether that is a strength for the most part or a weakness remains to be seen ...If the national character is based on ideas of individualism & liberty & duty like we like to opine about here in America ...rather than race or ethnicity ...then maybe, just maybe we would have less hostility for one another and judge each other by what we each DO and how we ACT ('the content of our character' as M.L.K. Jr. said) ...rather than by our ethnicity or the color of our skin. That is not to say that one should not cherish their heritage ...but it shouldn't be used as a battering ram to get ones way at the expense of the whole ...& the health of the character of the whole nation. Then we might heal. If we lead clean, upright and moral lives ...then why should skin colour matter? Martin Luther King Jr. said character was what counted with The Almighty. If we serve the good in one another then skin color, and even heritage become secondary to mutual love and respect. That is what impressed me about this coronation service ...that it was a call to service for something greater than one's narrow self-interest. And isn't that what Jesus Christ led his disciples to do? To serve others? "Greek, Jew, Samaritan, male, female", ... etc. (include any & every ethnic minority in one's own country).... Jesus gave equal importance to ALL in this New Way He initiated ...We can only try to do the same and emulate Him ..."The Way-shower".

I think that Princess Catherine had a great handle on the children, with Princess Charlotte of course. She is so sweet to her brothers, with Prince Louis especially. He really minds her well. What a comfort for Princess Catherine, she is a wonderful little person ❤

I noticed that, too! Even I, who is no longer a fan of Harry, might have turned my head a bit to glance his way. But the attendees were quite stoic and unimpressed as he passed by and I can appreciate their loyalty in that regard.
