It wasn’t an in the moment firing, I’m from Milwaukee, it was a city wide fact that if the bucks didn’t win after the bubble he was going to be fired. In 2019, the year b4 the bubble, the bucks blew a 2-0 lead to Toronto in the conference finals. After that season it was a consensus among fans that he should be fired, we even had fans sayin he should be fired even after winning the finals. He actually just postponed his firing by winning the championship.

Letting go of Holiday was the nail in the coffin, and that wasn't the coach's fault...that's mismanagement from higher up. You don't give up elite perimeter defense AND buckets from the PG position for a superstar, even if it is Dame...and how's that working out? Damn! I was watching just yesterday Bulls @ Knicks 1993 playoffs (wanted to remind myself what physical game looks like) and Rivers was a starter for the knicks. Watching him play I thought...he had a decent career as a player but as a coach he's been a lucky man because he sat on that Celtic bench at the right time, with 3 lead players that didn't really need any coaching given their status, q.i. and peak of their careers. They were the real coaches technically, especially KG one the defensive end. And I realized Rivers coach reputation has been living on that ring to this day because after that...not much good happened for his teams. And he had some pretty decent ones too.
