Top 10 STRONGEST Tokyo Ghoul Characters Explained (OWL, Black Reaper, and Noro)

Bringing this to attention, a lot of people really want Furuta on the list and you guy’s deserve an explanation. Furuta does not make the cut because not only does he use a C ranked quinque while other characters have kagune and quinques in the S ranks or higher There are also no specifications for Furuta’s Kagune. With that being said taking a lot of the fights into account Furuta wins a majority of his fights by not actually fighting he would usually just trick his opponent and take advantage of a situation in order to win. Long story short Furuta is a mastermind but he’s not much of a fighter. Not only that Furuta with his single battle against Kaneki gets completely washed, although Kaneki commends him for his strength and intelligence the fight is really just one-sided. Keeping that in mind, It was only natural for the other characters to be put on the list. If you put Furuta in a one on one against some of these characters he will probably lose and for people thinking that suzuya is ranked too high. Kaneki says and I quote “Maybe If It had been Juuzou alone I could’ve won” with that being said even without help there is still a possibility for Juuzou to defeat Kaneki. Take into consideration that even as Black Reaper Kaneki just obliterated Furuta on spot. That would have never happened to anyone in this current list. If Furuta is as strong as you all think he would not have to trick, deceive, and plan in order to win.

@@JeremyCrimson To be fair, she never fought with the intention to escape Cochlea. Both she and Arima knew their time was nigh. No point in dragging things out. All she wanted and had to do was drag things out, distract the CCG and allow Arima to do his thing and save Kaneki/Haise. So in reality, she didn't fight with the intent to kill. If she managed to land a killing blow, so be it. But if that wouldn't happen (and it didn't), no biggie.

Even though I would’ve liked to see Takizawa living a “normal live”, it’s pretty much impossible for him to do it. All that happened to him once he was turned into a ghoul made a point of no return in his existence. I guess it’s also great to know that some characters aren’t supposed to be happy forever just for the sake of a fucked up society illustrated in an anime.

I don't really think Juuzou would actually win against a full power Eto. She destroyed an entire steel compactor on a whim after she was severely weakened by drugs, not to mention was injured by Kichimura. She survived being reanimated as a corpse and even regrew her head along with her limbs from her torso and gave V the middle finger.

I always believe that Kuzen/Yoshimura is the STRONGEST ghoul to ever live. I mean, it took multiple investigators to slice him down, and they still didn't get close to fully killing him either as Eto shows up before they can do anything. He only lost an arm to Arima aswell, not multiple limbs or even fully defeated. The fact that he can literally fight off two investigators using Arata's and fairly strong quinques proves how strong he is. Plus, he wasn't in his prime anymore when fighting them at the Aogiri hideout & during the Anteiku raid, yet still held his own for a while and slaughtered TONS of people with ease at the Anteiku raid.

So you believe that Kuzen is stronger than Eto, Kaneki and Furuta, don’t wanna burst your bubble but he clearly isn’t. A young Arima using random quinque managed to cut off both of Kuzen’s arms and also take one of his Kakuhou. An older, more experienced Arima with better quinque’s managed to defeat Eto but even then he didn’t do the same amount of damage he did to Kuzen

Well I mean, I don't agree with Kaneki being the strongest. Arima defeated a full-strength Black Reaper Kaneki in about TWO SECONDS, and he only "lost" the fight because he was dying and he knew that Kaneki had the potential to unify the humans and ghouls, so he killed himself for this purpose. Kaneki could've never overpowered Arima, maybe not even with the Dragon power up, because he was simply too strong. And here I'm talking about the sick Arima who was already half-blind when facing Black Reaper Kaneki, now imagine how a healthy Arima would've performed.

@madanielle1765 The reason Arima killed himself after Black reaper kaneki (Who's hell bent of self sacrifice), turned into white haired kaneki (Who finally decided to fight for himself) is because this version of kaneki was exactly what he was looking for and is capable of fighting him BUT kaneki would never kill him. Arima needed kaneki to take his place to him dying was mandatory ( Unless kaneki never changed his mentality which would of result in Arima killing him). The fact of the matter is Eto wast the strongest character after Arima to the point she can fight the entire CCG by herself and win if Arima wasnt around, the moment kaneki easily cleared her Arima became the last pillar to surpass, which both Arima and Eto was grooming him to be. Besides Dragon kaneki IS easily the strongest character in the series bar none, so much so he should be able to fight everyone in the series by himself and still easily win as long as he's ruthless.

I'd only debate Kaneki's place. A sick and half-blind Arima defeated a full-strength Black Reaper Kaneki in TWO SECONDS, so even with the Dragon power up Arima could've been more powerful than Kaneki. Or at least a healthy Arima could've achieved that, but I consider that even the sick Arima was capable of doing so. It's almost impossible to confirm this, but Kaneki's strongest form before Dragon power up was Black Reaper, and taking into account that he didn't even stood a chance against Arima in this form, there is little chance that he could with Dragon power up.

Starved Kaneki ? Kaneki was a half-Kakuja and ready for battle. When was it mentioned or implied that he was starved ? He did say that he ages quickly, cries black tears and this could imply that he is weakened but again in the manga he was half-Kakuja.

At the time of Arima’s and Kaneki’s fight, I believe Arima was much stronger than Kaneki, but after Kaneki broke his quinque, there was no chance of him winning anymore.

The strongest Clown is Donato, the strongest Aogiri with the exception of Eto is Tatara (Possibly stronger as he was on the same rank as Eto but we never seen them fight and both held respect for one another), Strongest Ghoul overall is Rize after Dragon, her powerful cells led to Kaneki and Furuta who both are pretty strong, Furuta had the potential to develop more powerful than Kaneki if given time but Kaneki had more experience and development with Rize's cells while Furuta had more cells in him but no time to develop them. Roma is also pretty strong.

I consider that Roma was the strongest Clown, given that Donato was rated an SS, while Roma in the form of Mother of Uron was rated an SSS. What I do find weird is that Amon is considered stronger than Urie, but Urie took down an SSS without too much effort compared to Amon's struggle taking down an SS.

@madanielle1765 The SS,SSS ranking isn't based on power - the CCG base ranking on how active the Ghoul is/what they actually know about the Ghoul - Most SS Ghouls are stronger than most SSS. The CGG ranking only goes off the information they have to predict power but it's false. For example Shachi is SSS but he says that he would have 0 chance against Rize a S-Rated Ghoul & Rize turned out to be the strongest ghoul in the series.

solid list but I disagree with 2 things where the hell is Furuta, he should easily make it he even beat Eto second, Tatara has been stated to be stronger than his brother (his brother killed 100 investigators, 15 of them being special investigators), and is able to create flames that burn up to 4,000 degrees Celsius. That's what I think tho, Noro and Tatara are still hella op at the end of the day anyways lol.

I consider that Arima and Kaneki both tie up for the 1st place. Mainly because Kaneki's strongest form before Dragon power up was Black Reaper Kaneki, and not even at full power in this form could he last more than two seconds against a sick Arima. Now, Arima only "lost" because he knew that his sickness would eventually kill him, and he knew that Kaneki was the only one who could unify ghouls and humans, so he killed himself knowing for certain that no one, not even Kaneki, had the strength to kill him. Even though, we don't know if Arima could've been able to defeat Kaneki after his huge Dragon power up, but judging by the power he had when he defeated Black Reaper Kaneki (who was probably the strongest character after Arima at this point in the story), and taking into account that he was really sick at this point, it is possible that Arima had the power to defeat him, at least a healthy Arima. So I would put Arima as the strongest, even stronger than Dragon Kaneki, but given that we have no way of proving this I leave it as a tie.

The list isn't bad just in the wrong order and missing 1 person. Right off the bat the list is missing Furata who was the person to start off the series alongside Rize who'd also be the last person kaneki fought. 1. End of series Kaneki 2. Arima 3. Eto (Arguably number 4) 4. End of series furuta (Arguably 3, though as far as we've seen Eto only ever fought Arima & Kaneki seriously so hard to say) 5. The owl 6. End of series Suzuya The rest of your list can be applied from 7 onwards, the fact of the matter is there's no one in the series that can beat number 5 without pitting at least 8-10 of the strongest characters against him, yet along number 4 and up. Arima is so strong he'd literally be able to fight everyone in his verse (Barring end of series kaneki) and still win, he went as far as beating Eto with a single blow. Eto is capable of soloing the entire verse by herself if you remove kaneki & arima, going as far as 1 tapping several of the strongest investigators in the story in her first attack then toying with suzuya. Even in her nerfed state where she was injected with a crap ton of suppressants and in a starved state she was STILL capable of putting up a fight and able to use her kagune which shouldn't even be possible. Furuta his best feat outside of not getting 1 shot by kaneki was being able to fight nerfed Eto and winning, both of those feats aren't even something anyone under number 4 on the list can even do. Like seriously a serious Kaneki, Arima or Eto moon walks anyone in a fight. Small mention for Dragon Rize who on paper should be somewhere at 3 or 4 but doesn't have enough showings to even be placed on the list, which is funny because enough base rize doesn't have enough showings to be on the list in general even though we know most ghouls were afraid of her and avoided conflict. Just never got to see her all out in combat. But yea narratively speaking, humans saw Arima as god with the ghouls fearing him, Ghouls saw Eto as god with humans fearing her both of which held the title of One eye king. Kaneki basically became one by the end of the series, with Furuta who's basically the opposite side of the same coin being the last to challenge him. There's absolutely no one beating Kuzen in a 1v1 outside of those ranked above him, even end of series suzuya is losing in a 1v1.

Sorry wtf… Kaneki becoming the dragon completely broke the power scale in Tokyo Ghoul. At that point, he was not only a threat to Tokyo, but a threat to the entire world, as his kagune had ripped through the crust of the earth and emerged in Paris, along with other cities. If the ghouls and CCG weren’t working together, he probably wouldn’t have been found, meaning that he would have grown, quite literally ripping the earth apart in the process.
