That feeling of having money and not working (and then having to go back to work) is certainly a game changer when it comes to lighting a fire under you to come back to that lifestyle someday, i can confirm!

I love Owen, how you let your guests speak. So often interviewers interrupt, but here, as in other interviews you do, the guest sometimes goes down the rabbit hole further and further in their thoughts and that's where the gold is. :)

I’m resonating with Dave’s story. I to dropped out of school at year 9, worked a lot of shitty jobs at minimal wage, I’m still on minimum wage working as a machine operator, but I now love my job. I’m 47 years old, I’m a little late on my investment journey unlike others starting in there twenties, but financially I couldn’t get into investing until around three years ago after cleaning my act up. I’ve got rid of all my bad debts, giving me the opportunity to invest. I now own three properties, two as investments giving me positive income each week. I’m just starting out with investing into ETF’s after listening to RASK podcasts while working each day. I’m now thinking about selling down my properties to use the cash to invest into ETF’s, this maybe a better option that to hold onto property, even though I’m making money on my investments I’m still laying out money on upkeep to keep my properties, could be a better option to just invest into the market. 🤔

That’s awesome man. I’m similar in that I realised that property investing isn’t for me. Owning a home is though, and debt recycling to buy shares is what I do now.

@@NoRegertsHere I’ve just sold 2 of my investment properties, making a decent profit. I’ve invested a big chunk of my profits into the market. Now I’ll just keep dollar cost averaging into my chosen ETF’s for the long term 😊

It’s a strange world where qualified finance professionals get less views than influencers, but this content is excellent and applicable to Australia. I wish them well with it

The term retirement has negative connotations with so many people. Especially when used by people under 65. So far the people who I’ve met who stop their full-time jobs end up persuing passion projects: volunteering, jobs that are related to hobbies rather than for the income, education in a new area.

Apparently, most real wealth (social capital) is not self-generated through scripting and investing in shares but passed on through intergenerational wealth as 'moral luck' where persons are lucky to go to private school and skip the proletariate job.
