Well, it may be an apt metaphor, but it can go two ways. Sometimes the star pitcher argues to stay in, the manager allows it, and the pitcher ends up being correct. bro, being president is also physically taxing though. the stress and hours and... everything really. his point was consider the team and the strategy for being able to win. if joe didn't have the numbers to win, it would be LIKE a star pitcher that is tiring out and if the pitcher stays, fatigue could cost them the game. here it's more like polls and the climate. raskin wouldn't make a simple and failed argument such as physical skill compared to a wisdom-only skill.
