With the God of War, maybe the problem is somewhere else. The game was overclocking the original PSP. I had the exact same problem with the softmoded Vita which run the game exactly like this if the game was played via Adrenaline (with the original Vita PSP emulation it was ok). Maybe you just need an emulator which will run the game in the "overclocked PSP" settings. I didn't have the RPi 4 under my hands yet but I think this theory is worth checking.

God of war runs on PS Vita the same as original PSP, becuse Vita has it's cpu built-in for backward compatibility.

This is the tip I needed. Enabling frame skipping got some of my games to work a lot smoother with no choppy audio.

I know its weird but I like the non anti-aliased, pixelated look. Especially for PSP games when people emulate and it uprezzes the low textures stick out like a sore thumb. It's like someone doing it to PS1 games it kills the aesthetic. Looks good with jaggies here...Great vid!

Ive been getting pretty good results from psp games in lakka. Some just flat out refuse to load but id say a good 80% of what ive tried works no issues.

Everything ran pretty well despite GoW as usual. Constant 30 fps and that crazy good 60fps in power stone.I can't wait to see the future of emulation on pi .

I mean, all the games that are fit to play on an arcade cab are already emulated by the Pi3 or even 2. Killer Instinct isn't even a good game. People played it for a few weeks when it came out due to the graphics.

Hoping to see the new firmware with gpu_freq=733 and arm_freq=2100 and overvoltage=6 - this is the highest I’ve gotten to run stable, but I’ve never tried Lakka. Was hoping for Retropie.

God of runs on max fps possible on hardware which might slowdown the gameplay. Limiting fps by Using 30fps or 60fps patch might speed up god of war.

Even in a hacked version of RetroPie I have been getting perfect PPSSPP emulation on my RaspberryPi 4, no need to even run Lakka (Though overclocking would be cool, I have yet to find a PSP game that needs it to run, aside from GOW)

Have you tested the LG V30 or LG G7 ThinQ? They go for $150 and $190 (open box), respectively, on eBay. They're the only phones with SD835 and SD845, respectively, that I've seen that cheap.

This is decent, but native resolution is kind of hurting with PSP on a big screen. With maybe 2 or 3 X resolution, this would be much better. Hmm, we'll see what a stand alone PPSSPP can do, but I think we will have to hold out for Pi 5, to make this a really good experience. Note, please correct me if this just looks bad, due to KZbin compression.

I've be tinkering with my my Pi 4 for a week now, and cant decide what OS to put on it. I want to emulate and run it as a media center. Kodi is a ton of work, and android doesn't work yet. Recommendations appreciate. Also ETA Prime your reviews are the best. Spent to much money this month lol

What I would love to know, and I hope somebody can help me. I have a Pi3 B+ but i mostly use a desktop to do my emulation as I love run ahead and geometry CRT shaders. Will a Pi4 be able to do a decent CRT shader with run ahead if I overclock it and stick an ice tower cooler on there? I´m only interested in 8 bit, 16 bit and a spot of PSX.

Tekken 6 has an infamous bug on PPSSPP that makes the characters' limbs shake like crazy (and yes being tekken this does affect gameplay) which is why ETA prefers to use T5DR in his tests

Btw I hate the lakka first had a few problems with wifi. And then I selected ssh enabled and it still wouldn't connect. Also bluetooth not working sucks and couldn't get a few USB joysticks to work. And I tested the PC games and they all run super slow and laggy. Also I hate the keyboard layout. I'm sure you can change it. But I still don't see the purpose of this lakka just installing a minimum linux and then retropie works perfectly for me on rpi 4. They still have alot of work to do I'd stay away till everything is worked out,

Do you have any experience getting the Pi to boot when changing the gpu_freq=x value causes the pi NOT to boot? If I change the gpu value at all the pi refuses to boot Retro Pi. Lakka for some reason works with these changed values.

Yeah, means not enough GPU power... likely needs 2 times to run and i guess at least 4-5 times faster GPU to upscale GoW to 1080p.

The games can be upscaled however I would not recommend this for the PSP on the Raspberry Pi for at this time as it's still in its developmental phase however you can do it easily on the DS and maintain full speed

Not on the Raspberry Pi for PSP right now. Not without sacrificing speed. However you could probably upscale the NDS 3D games on the Raspberry Pi 4 with no problem in no speed lost provided you're using the DraStic emulator

@@BehrouzKashkar well if your primary focus is just PSP I wouldn't necessarily wait for a Raspberry Pi 4 b+. As plenty of other consoles to choose from on the platform and the PSP might improve on the current platform with proper firmware and software updates. So if you're just concerned about PSP I would wait and keep an eye on the current hardware and software capabilities as things develop. Edit: also do keep in mind the low resolution is not an issue on the 2D games it really only affects things when it comes to the 3D games.

I clocked my pi to 2.17ghz & 750mhz gpu, thrown 20+ dreamcast games at it and all have run great. Even clocking it to that Goldeneye is still laggy but a little better than at 2ghz/675mhz. Not tried any other N64 games yet, got dreamcast working and enjoyed my testing time too much to try other N64 games
