Yeah, unfortunately it looks like he ended the project. I've been powering my RPI Allstar mobile node with it here on the bench for the last few days. It works perfect.

Oh, I suppose you can use ACC from the lighter socket and constant 12V from pin 16 on the OBD2 port. :)

Yep, I'm running a tapped lighter socket feed to control my radios in my Tacoma. I've got a dedicated constant feed for main power. I'm not sure of the max current of the OBD 13.8v feed....be careful. 73

Interwebs says max of 5A is spec for the OBD port pin 16. I'd still be careful.

@@n5yiz Much thanks. The part you linked is out of stock, so I bought a similar product from All Spectrum from Van Nuys, California. A bit more expensive, but you don't need to use the OBD port. It detects ACC losing power and then signals the Pi to shutdown. - VA7RJU
