Great video, Lee : I really like the vulkan performance on the pi and takes emulation to a whole new level.. with great fps i think this might be a great thing.. i am personally planning to optimise vulkan further and make it more compatible to all games and any high detailed textures.. i may release a gaming edition of crimson os with all sorts of optimisations and facilities for gamers on linux.. kind of similar to regata os but on raspberry pi boards .. i will update the github with a new repository for it in a few working days.. will email you with the new girhub as you seem to be more interested in gaming on the pi so.. are many people so why not provide them a common platform.. You probably need to install a package called "vulkan-tools" (as it is named on Gentoo Linux, my distro of choice) or something similar.

lee, can you see if the latest orange pi os (android) image is play protect certified? you can see it in the playstore options, this is necessary to run warzone mobile if i'm not mistaken. It would be cool if you tested it in a shorts video, like you did with fortnite

Depending on the game it might be worth to press f1-12 just to see if there are dev options or displays . Not always but sometimes an fps counter or save functionality is up there. Looking forward to the future of the system , well powerful enough for home automation and general usage for main pc.

Another impressive development. The RK3588 is alleged to perhaps get Vulkan support at the end of the year, 2 years after release. Rockchip and associates really are looking like rank amateurs right now.

It ultimately depends whether or not you're obsessed with games and the gimmick of 4K video - otherwise Vulkan is of little importance to you anyway. It always amuses me that a basic Pi 5 costs £80 and you still need to buy a cooler, case and storage on top of that - yet you can pick up a used SFF PC with a 3rd or 4th generation Core i5 or i7 CPU and 4 or 8 GB RAM for about £50 (it might even have a hard disk thrown in also) and that will give you much better Vulkan support, even with built in Intel graphics. This is the problem when newbies come along and only ever follow step-by-step videos to get anything done without ever experimenting or learning themselves - they are limited to the platforms used in the videos (mostly Raspberry Pi) but haven't got a clue about building Linux on cheaper and better platforms for certain applications. If you buy a Raspberry Pi, designed as a cheap computer to learn on, and just play games or watch videos on it, how will you ever learn anything?
