+Sebase Fernandez by the time you factor in the cost of a remote or wireless keyboard/ mouse and WiFi dongle, case, sd card, power supply; a Roku may be less expensive. Although there is a free Kodi remote iPhone app, and the Pi 3 has built in WiFi.

OSMC is probably my favourite distro--have been using it for several months or so, with a similar hardware configuration/setup. Although I had/have trouble with Samba share--could only use UPnP for streaming from my PC to OSMC. I decided to ditch the OSMC skin though, and personally use the Nebula skin, with the weather page selected on start up. Since I have it set to turn on with my 46" HDTV.

It is not a power supply issue as I have used the same power supply when I used RaspBMC with very little issue. I'll admit I think I was using RC2 but I ran the update and assumed this would update to the latest version. Is this not the case? Thanks for your comment I will check out the final version. I must admit I really do like the look at OSMC and I use the conq skin. Hopefully the latest version is a bit more stable.
@samdev1994

OSMC consumes more power than Raspbmc and OpenELEC, particularly on Pi 2 models. Yes, RC2 would update to the final version. The final version was released on 28th June. As I say, we're not aware of any issues like this, but if you start a forum post on discourse.osmc.tv we'd be happy to take a look Cheers Sam

Heck yeah! You'll notice that I don't cuss on-line. Just got my PI 3 up and running tonight. My wife's Dell laptop got a virus in it and I cannot get it out. I think that it got into the EPROM chip and it won't let me update the security essentials. There's some kind of writing on the lower left of the screen. I tried removing the memory chips out of both banks and re-installed, but to no avail. Neither will it let me reload Windows 7. When I tried to do a full memory test, it only went to 10% and there it stopped. Guess I'll scrap it and take out parts that I can use, like the screen. I can use it for my PI 3 once I get a driver board for it. Wish me luck!

@ExplainingComputers
@ExplainingComputers 8 жыл бұрын
Lester Ipapo The Pi cannot power an external drive, but you could indeed use a Y-splitter to power the Pi and a 2.5" HD from a 5V USB PSU or a power bank as you say. If you do this and use Berryboot, you can even install the operating system(s) on the HDD so that the Pi boots from the micro SD card still, then you select an OS which then boots from the HDD. :)

Hi when you put osmc onto your card I have noticed that the card does not show its proper value so if you put it on a 32gb card and it only shows something mb after putting osmc on it how do you alter this in osmc when it's on the raspberry pi2 back to show it right value please

On your Windows computer you only see the boot partition which is FAT32. Windows does not see your data partition which is ext4. Only Linux can see that, and that's were the space is located. So you didn't lose space. It's just in a file system that WINDOWS CAN'T READ, but OSMC and all Linux distros CAN, so it's not lost.

CPPRODUCTIONS1001 I have been experimenting with a faster production pipeline in which I spend less time cleaning audio (which usually takes 3-4 hours a video). Clearly this has not worked. Your feedback, and that of others here, noted with thanks. :)

ExplainingComputers I didn't notice anything CPPRODS1001 was talking about. Whatever it is that this person is talking about, is it really worth 3-4 hours of your valuable time? Another excellent video with outstanding production as always, EC!

Danny Vasquez I never said the production was bad nor that it was a problem. To be honest I don't mind but I thought I would bring it to his attention. My headphones are very good quality so it may be I can hear things not meant to be heard and I have checked my cables and they seem fine.
