Great products from Pimoroni. I put in an order this morning. I really like the Plasma 2040 and the Plasma 2350 with, hooray, more pinouts is even better. For controlling LEDs and Neopixels on a model railway this is perfect. ❤

Yes, having a CPU with RISC architecture it's a great toy for the ones that can take advantage of it. With AI on the rise we are going to start seeing some pretty cool stuff.

Catching up on things after dc32. Loving the new items offerings from Pimoroni. When we had a first quick glance after getting our vendor badges we thought it was a 2040 then quickly realized it was the 2350!

The Raspberry Pi Pico 2: without WiFi, without Bluetooth. I don't know what the Raspberry Foundation was thinking. It's not a model that interests me, so I'd rather wait for a successor.

A nice overview and some interesting new products. Pico Jumbo looks great and loving the luxury of the reset button! It seems a shame the 8 ADC-capable GPIO are only on the B version of the RP2350 (QFN 80). I'll ask in the Pi forum why this is the case. For mention of connectors at16:58 (and 28:32) I would say we are still in the transition phase. USB-C will be common with moderate wealth in the developed world but for those with a tighter budget or trying to maximise the lifetime of their electronics or awaiting the next hardware refresh cycle there's still a lot of USB-A/B/micro-USB out there.

520k of RAM. I first thought, how should I ever need so much RAM but then I remembered that I already twice used up almost all RAM of the 264k in the RP2040. One in CircuitPython which isn’t all that difficult. But one in C which is a feat to behold :D. I had to use malloc a lot!

I don't believe the Pico 2 comes with onboard WiFi/Bluetooth/BLE as of yet. But the RP2350 is a nice update to the RP2040. Also the larger form factor chip has 48 GPIO pins those extra pins and cores will come in handy for many makers.

Ahoy me hearties! Can you reveal where you get the PCBs with the full RGB artwork made, and maybe something of the process for making them? Are they economical in one-off quantities? It'd be a great way of legending keypads and making fancy control panels. RPi's choice to put the RISC-V cores on the same chip without the ability to use all four at once seems very strange to me. I would have gone for two different chip variants. That would have avoided paying the ARM licence on the V variant and also reduced the area and therefore the cost of BOTH variants. Question for Eben next time he is interviewed!

JLCPCB and PCBWay are both offering a colour printing service in smaller numbers. Not sure on the economics for smaller orders, but the price should be bearable for a handful of boards. For JLC you have to use their software to basically import your Gerbers, then plonk a PNG/JPG over the top of it in EasyEDA. There are a few gotchas in the process to avoid printing on pads but that's something you can work through with their technicians. www.pcbway.com/blog/News/Unlock_Color_PCB_Printing_with_PCBWay_0939d559.html jlcpcb.com/blog/multi-color-silkscreen-pcb I think they already have enough chip variants to look after this time :-). Offering another option would have meant have twice as many SKUs to control. This was definitely the solution that meant the fewest engineering/business headaches which making it happen at all. There are some good snippets on use of wafer space from Luke Wren if you hunt through the RPi blog and comments.

The Pico ADC used to be completely useless without an external reference voltage and/or a dead-stable power source. Has that improved with the Pico 2, or your Plus version? This is almost certainly not SoC related, but all in the voltage regulator and other analog components.

@pimoroni
@pimoroni Ай бұрын
Chip Select on the QSPI line to switch between them. It'll be slower than main RAM, sure, but you get a buttload of memory in return and it's plenty fast unless you're doing something really intensive. In that case, there is a load of overclocking headroom if you need more throughput.

Hi guys love your products. Ordered many this weekend. Can you do a pico 2 plus plus same size as plus but also somehow fits in sd card and a hdmi port (since pico 2 added hdmi hardware bits to it) even a micro or mini if that’s all you can fit? I bet you sell a lot to the emulator crowd. Also can you do an explorer plus? I really think it should have that 8megs of sram for prototyping

We definitely take it for granted that USB-C is the go-to now. Raspberry Pi do have a global user base, and a bunch of them live in places where USB-C adoption isn't a thing yet. I don't like micro-USB any more, but I can see why it's still being used.

@@pimoroni Are there any plans by Pimoroni to make an RP2350B board with all the GPIO pins available on 0.1" headers? The PGA format is a turn off for me due to the lack of a USB connector and the double rows of pins - not breadboard friendly and more awkward to solder. A longer wide DIP format would be good, or failing that, an Arduino MEGA format. For me, the extra memory on the RP2350B isn't all that important because the standard one has plenty for most purposes. I wanted one for the extra pins, but not through tiny connectors and extra adapters to get to them.
