Just a heads up, @3:26 you have the anti-inversion shackle installed wrong. That triangular part of the shackle needs to be pointing towards the front of the truck, not the rear, to prevent the shackle from inverting. Should be easy enough to get under there and just flip it 180°. I just put ome springs, shocks, and shackles on my 87 4runner over the weekend and had to google which way those anti-inversion shackles were supposed to face too. Nice truck though🤙🏼
@RassoolRacing Жыл бұрын
Thanks dude. I'll take a look at it, but if I remember the install, this was the only way the triangle contacted anything. I'll give it a try though

Hey dude. I just heard back from ironman 4x4. I sent them pictures and they said my shackles are the right way round. Good luck with your rig dude.

If you're going to go replace the brakes upgrade the system to the later third gen 4Runner calipers 1-in master cylinder, dual diaphragm brake booster and 88 Land cruiser rear wheel cylinders.
@onetwentyeight Жыл бұрын
does that shop have lots of tools? :) nice vid, reminding me my 85 has a droopy butt too. looking much better w/ the new stance. If you want to upgrade the brakes, i recommend the fj80 master, v6 calipers, vented rotors, and a dual diaphragm booster from a t100. I just did that to mine and it's way better than the old 4 cyl calipers. Whtas going on w the trans?
@RassoolRacing Жыл бұрын
Lots of tools 🤣 Mine was a 3.0 originally so some of those braking upgrades are already in place. My next move is to replace the load sensing proportioning valve with a manual wilwood one. As far as the trans, it's just not wanting to shift up and stay in higher gears when it's warm. At cold start it'll shift at 3k rpm, but once it warms up it doesn't shift till 5k rpm :(

Hi , love your vid. Great work looks tops. Q. In Australia i cant locate a nudge bar / bull bar which holds the spot light's. Does anyone know where i can locate a front nudge bar like this through a link wrb page or have one they dont want. One that holds a winch would be awesome also if possible.

What size tires are you running on this video?

31s
@liveoak7838 Жыл бұрын
funny how you point out the difference between the tires on the front and rear wheel wells as if they are the same height. The front is higher by design so when the truck is level, there will still be more space in the front
@RassoolRacing Жыл бұрын
Yes. The front height is also adjustable using the torsion bars, so it's really more about the saggy rear leafs. but it's not like I had a stock truck to compare it all to.

How is the new torsion bar
@RassoolRacing11 ай бұрын
Good! I'd needed to adjust them after a little bit to set the ride height once everything had settled, but other than that, it's been smooth sailing

I'll never buy another Ironman product. Quality control problems are one thing but i got zero customer support for any of them. My queries went unanswered. I even phoned its head office in Australia and the employees there brushed me off and told me i had to deal with the "North American distributor" -- some rural fab shop no one's heard of.
