This is a good video with valuable information. The only thing missing is information on how someone can help. If there is a way for those living in the diaspora to help, please provide that information. I love and respect the teachings of Rastafari. Rastafarians are way ahead of the time. Veganism is not a new thing; Rastafarians ALWAYS spoke of healthy eating. Ital! They spoke about self love, self care and a whole host of other things that society is just now embracing. Rastafarians were on point when it comes to politics, religion and education. They, like any other "religious" group are not perfect. I am and forever will be grateful for the teachings/lessons that I've learn from Rastafari, it has made me who I am today. One Love.

Jah & Jahes love. This is a really sad situation. I feel that the Elder is correct, the Jamaican government must provide some kind of retirement aid to these elder RastafarI people who represent a very important part of the culture and legacy of the country. I also feel that RastafarI families that were torn apart and whose children were placed in foster care to baldhead people in Jamaica, should get reparations. Lastly, I wish that someone had started a GofundMe fundraiser to help these elders. The facility can be built with RastafarI labor and it should have all of the amenities, including independent rooms for men and women as well as suites for families or tribes. It wouldn't take much effort to raise the funds, a few Reggae concerts and the proceedings from the sale of the music or video from this effort could raise a few hundred thousand dollars. I totally agree, but serious note. Who fault is this, really? They spoke of unity, love and progress but never really practiced those things. They only talked, and smoke and talk. And there were many opportunities, via unity, for them to strive economically. Co-operative crop farming, inclusive of the weed, construction, Hemp clothing, Rastafarian restaurants and foods that ppl love, real estate investments through co-operation and various Rasta centered products that ppl from around the world are capitalizing on. And what about these singers and musicians that sang and continue to sing about Rasta love and unity, make loads of money but do very little to unify and help the Rasta business grow strong? Too much talk and smoke, no real co-operation, inner fighting, human pettiness and greed from those who made it singing Rasta-themed songs and ghetto-poverty songs are the source of all this. And as you rightly said.....they shouldn't expect any help from a system they wanted to burn down.

My investment in my children is no guarantee, as I currently try to provide for my parents. Be in the world but not of the world... I did have to compromise, aged 30 to traverse the system that I scorned. I was able to help many more as well as I and I in order to create a clearer future even for my elder brother who is a Rasta in St Vincent and he my beloved has been a harder working man than me. I don't just want to hear wisdom, I need to see it, touch it, the most high gave us all the senses... however, long live the wise Rasta

Many Rastafarian did not take heed of the words of HIM, all the blame cannot be put on the system, we should take charge of our development. Although they have a great part to play the main source of income for the Rasta community is ganja which have been criminalized so cash flow always been a hinderance to the development of the Rasta community. Say this the Rasta spends to much time criticizing the system rather than establishing a constructive governance of their affairs. I believe with proper governance the many young rastas who gained a high level of tertiary education should give back to thier elders and reestablish a well constructed rasta community.
