He lives his life happy because he valued life and nature, and lived as a man who realized all those truths, that one must live with nature, not against nature, as pretty much most of the world - atleast the western world - does. I myself do not believe that there is such a thing as "heaven" as you might mean with better place, which doesnt mean that i dont believe in afterlife, actually i believe life never ends. He is with us. On both a spiritual and a physical level. His body will degrade eventually, and so his body will become good soil for new plants which will eventually be made up by him.
