Funny, I used to feed the feral cats at my place of business until the management started complaining about the cats on the property. So, I found homes for all the cats and removed them from the property. However, shortly after doing that we started having a rat problem and the management called me into the office and asked me if I could bring the cats back. I lived in LA for over a year. It used to be beautiful but it's a Dystopia now. There's garbage and the sad and mentally ill everywhere. Homeless encampments even out in the San Fernando valley . The celebrities and very wealthy the city is known for could help but they say nothing. With their money they could help to build affordable housing, even subsidizing some of the renters who can't afford the entire rent. They could do so much good. Instead they prefer to make movies about being heroes and good people.

I mean you could get a vast majority of people of the street , by just having these greedy landlords who piss and moan that they don't make enough money, but if you do the calculations even in the most smallest units landlords can still clear at least 5 figures a month. @@oaf-77 Oh, sorry for that. Yes, people are usually so great, but people are sometimes so awful. If I remember the snake story correctly, the bounty worked for a while and the snake population declined rapidly, until it began to get difficult to find more snakes, then people started breeding the snakes in order to keep getting the government money. I think this is called the "Cobra Effect" and is described on Wikipedia.

No you’re right, if there’s a loop hole, people will exploit it. Rats are notoriously trap shy, so short of poisoning them, which will damage the food chain of the few remaking predators in Los Angeles I don’t know the solution is.

I'm at ground zero in SD and I can tell you that the city officials aren't doing anything about the homeless plague except for enforcement of the law's witch is slowly becoming ineffective, honestly it's a matter of time until SD is just as bad as LA and SF Oakland ect. I do think your right though if it wasn't for Faulkner we (SD) would be at the same level as the rest of CA but it's only a matter of time.
