Rat the Size of pigeons invading uk parks

this is one of thr reasons Rollo and myself patrol local parks because the Rats are getting bigger and bigger and as you you can see from the video this rat can very close to me !!! in the summer this park will be packed with children having pic-nics and playing so we don't want rat urine and poo everywhere for a child to catch a disease!!! I will be back to this spot very soon to keep the numbers down

They have no sense of fear sometimes. For an animal that's quite clever in some ways, like homing pigeons, in other ways they are dull as a brush. I seen one get run over by a slowly moving car, it just stood there whilst the wheel came towards it, didn't fly away or anything.

I caught a wild rat (roof rat) and kept it as a pet. I remember reading online after catching it that they will never be pets yada yada. But lil guy has a cage in my room I leave the door open so he can come out if he wants like once a day and he always goes toilet in the same place I taught him from when he was little. Never does his business on me either proper clean lil fella. He had the perfect reaction to situations there’s no way he isn’t some emotional genius Edit roof rat not root rat lol

Yep! & People always assume that rats are bad, the plague or something, but they naturally clean up things just as scavenger birds do, like, crows, magpies, ravens etc.. Same type thing with coyotes & other animals, but they get a bad rap too. Of course too many of anything can be bad, but nature always takes care of imbalanced situations, as long as mankind doesn't Fk with it & throw it all out of whack, which he does quite often!

I grew up thinking animals but dogs and cats weren’t intelligent, yet owners of rats etc would know otherwise and it’s interesting science only recently comes out like “actually, this rat study shows they have complex emotions” so part of me thinks they only just started evolving or everyone’s just ignorant 🤣People get so irate because of Chinese people eating intelligent pets yet I think my rats just as smart as my dog, especially considering he’s a fraction of the age. He’s like to me how a fox is to a dog or a border collie is to a Labrador. Super cute and well behaved, a solid 9/10 pet
