Ratatouille getting the respect it deserves is the content I like to see. This is without a doubt my favorite Pixar film and maybe one of my favorite films of all time and often times those statements get me very strange looks from others. While you said it wasn’t your number 1, you managed to put into words why I love it so much and why i’ve been addicted to it since its release. LOVE this video and your commentary.

Thank you for making this video. It didn’t go at all the way I thought it might from the title but the insight (and satire) really struck a chord. Ratatouille is actually my number 1, everything about it is perfect to me, I love the feelings I get when I watch it... and wow, that soundtrack. Thanks for making a statement and trying to make the world a little bit better 😊

I love the "word from out sponsors" part (clearly enjoy the rest of the videos too, but I always look forward for that part). I think it would be amazing if you posted just that part on instagram so it could be something to share even for people who don't really care for movies or the rest of the topics you talk about. In any case, thanks! This one about body image and the last bit about dealing with failure and doing things because you enjoy them and nothing more really hit home.

"you are not what you create" definitely something that i need to hear more/internalise. the bit where you said that Ratatouille isn't in many peoples' top ten Pixar movies made me chuckle--this is perhaps my favourite film of all time, or a close second to Meet the Robinson's or Perks of Being a Wallflower. (i am a simple soul.) watching this video and seeing so many of my own thoughts and musings regarding both the film in general and Remy alone articulated coherently and concisely was like a breath of fresh air. lovely video. brilliant commentary. i was hoping to convey more but i suppose i'm too in awe of this to pull anything together. i loved this, to put it simply. thanks for doing justice to my namesake x ps: hearing my username (and my name in general, though one was unavoidable since the film haha) was a shock to the system, i forgot about it completely 😅

I constantly think about how Gusteau's reaction to receiving that one bad review planted a seed deep in my brain about what it means to be an artist. For some reason, my child brain managed to get the Most toxic message from this lovely movie.

I'd just like to point out that what you said about art is something applicable more generally. Every time we focus too much on what is "the best" in us (be it art or for example math, and this kind of intelligence or ability to understand and support other people) it might lead to lesser growth of us as people, or might hurt us. I'd say turning ourself into this one specific ability is in the end limiting us. (And honestly not only that it makes us less happy, it also means we can't do these things fully. Fear of failure is a dumb and intensive thing, isn't it)

Saying that I am not what i create or the perception of what i create really helped for one specific reason I’m in a place where I’ve finally accepted my queerness and being attracted to women; and partially out of hormones but also in a desire for protest i draw a lot of naked ladies which cordons off my art and means that i can’t widely share it; also because of the more taboo themes i try to cover So that really helps to hear and for me to remember

I am one of those folk that haven't seen it :-p I'm 28, so maybe just a bit old for that one to be amongst my childhood nostalgia... Mine was more so made up of Robin Williams flicks & 90's disney :-p Think Toy Story might've been the only Pixar film even around back when I was younger? I could be way off, but that's what seems to be stored in my brain box :-p Anyway haha, I'm only a minute in, let me stop typing & finish watching your video Sam :-p Something tells me I'll be adding Ratatouille to my to-watch list after this... Just from your intro alone :-p EDIT: Haha, 6 seconds after pausing it to write this comment, you mentioned there were spoilers :-p So guess I will indeed be downloading this after all :-p
