Level I made for an R&C fan project by Shuukassen.
I'm probably not going to make much more significant progress with this, atleast this year so this may well be the final build, as it is.

I wish modern ratchet and Clank took a similar approach to this rather than focusing on cinematic graphics, this retains the feel and gameplay of the originals while looking modern, I'm sure Insomniac could still make something that looks polished if they tried something like this

i think it was the choice of sony because look at spyro, they took the original game, soundtrack etc. and jus enchanced the gameplay and graphics. Spyro is a game of insomniac and insomniac worked on the reignited trilogy too. The reignited trilogy also isnt a exclusive for ps...

@@dieepipen2865 Sony's basically putting them through what they have been through since 2003. Constant crunching and deadlines that are just shrinking with each title. Far as I'm aware, Rift Apart doesn't contribute much of anything to the story or gameplay other than being a PS5 tech demo.

@@TyrannoWright Truer than you think, Sony was responible for UYA having a mandatory multiplayer, which is why UYA has such a rushed feeling to it. Same for ToD being bogged down with the annoying waggle controls Sony was pushing with the PS3's launch.

Dude! I was so dreaming about seeing a modern-looking R&C game that retained the original vintage visuals and overall vibe of the early 2000's one day! Why didn't Insomniac do that instead? It just had to become less and less good after A Crack in Time 😭 (and I'm being a bit generous with that one)

This looks and feels like a fever dream I'd have about this game series. It is a very ethereal feeling. Like, you know a game like this, so in tune with the original style, will never be made again, but your brain would like it so much that it has trouble processing looking at this. Impressive You can actually make a great ratchet & clank 1 remake better than insomniac did on the ps4 I think you need to put the weapon lock-on gameplay from the sequels than the original weapons gameplay from the original.

Hey you should make Custom Ratchet and Clank fan music, I know the original composer David Bergeaud used alotta E-Lab samples for Ratchet and Clank and I most definitely can picture fan music playing in the custom levels.

I see this and wonder why they never ported the og trilogy Ratchet model for Rift apart. Not that he looks bad. He just looks way too “cute” to be carrying weapons around and killing things. As well as the music. Never in my life have I played a rac game 100% and stopped playing. I still play the trilogies and I’ve beaten them literally too many times to count. Rift apart was great but it’s lacking when it comes to music, and planets.

This looks awesome the only thing I'd change is maybe putting more detail in Ratchet and Clank. Just bridge the looks from old and new together and it'd be perfection. I miss the old level designs but I liked the early PS3 designs personally.

Really cool remake of the movement and all that. But honestly if you're making a remake, some things need to change because a lot of stuff is just outdated. Like the old double jumps is straight up garbage and gives no extra height which is a sin to do in platformens these days. I also think that ratchet has always lacked animation quality compared to sly Cooper and Jak and Daxter, especially when ratchet shoots and uses weapons.

I just wish we had gotten a clean cut remake/remaster of the original instead of the worse version (content and story wise) with ratchet and Clank ps4 I would of been fine if they literally just used most of the original models but cleaned them up to modern graphics standards like 4k but no that's not the path they chose
