(The remake I mean) It's gone too hard on being politically correct, cause a smuggler of the likes of the OG RYNO seller would be heavily frowned upon nowadays, mostly in kid-oriented games (which is BS), but hey, society went to be overly sensitive weiners who can't take a joke and have too much power to peer pressure stuff, so yeah, not much that can be done.

@@DustyTerrarion this really doesn’t have anything to do with politics, its just the direction the R&C series has been headed lately. The very first game centered itself around a hyper-consumeristic world with a junkyard/garage aesthetic that, even if subconsciously, drew people in because of how different it was to other sci-fi media. Now, however, it seems that the devs knew what people liked without knowing _why_ they liked it. People didn’t like Ratchet and Clank because they were best friends from the get-go, people liked them because they hated each others guts and that you as the player got to watch their relationship play out. People didn’t like the Ryno just because it was a strong endgame weapon, people liked it because of what it took to get it and the overpowering feeling of finally getting it in your hands. The cutscenes and interactions as well took a hard hit. Even if unlocking the ryno was the exact same method as the original game, it still wouldn’t be as good because of the terrible interactions. None of it feels like a natural conversation, all just people saying things at each other

To be honest, I think most of the fans would have been happy if R&C1 got the Bluepoint treatment: Improve the graphics and performance whilst adding some minor improvements, like some of the cut content that didn’t make it in due to the limited tech at the time. Ratchet was never meant to be a “nice guy”, he murders hundreds of enemies with brutal weapons yet they’ve made him a happy, flawless, boy scout, it breaks the immersion and just doesn’t work to the game’s benefit whatsoever. For some reason there are people that didn’t like his original personality. Him butting heads with Clank was for the purpose of developing the story and setting up these characters as eventual best friends. Their arguments made their friendship feel believable. This stands as one of the best cutscenes in the original. “Disappoint me.”

The remake did a lot of good things, but unfortunately they did more wrong than good, ofcourse the graphics are phenomenal and to see Rilgar, Kerwan and Aridia in hi def just made my jaw drop but damn the story telling and the acting was way too off for me. In the original Ratchet was more of a badass whatever guy and the RYNO merchant was a sinister blarg with a bad attitude I really missed that one and his voice actor was 100 times better.

I was so disappointed in the remake, no skill points, no gold variant of weapons, 50% of the planets cut out, Drek is a absolute joke, we faught Dr Nefarious waaaaay to early the game felt extremely rushed out and the biggest sacrilege is no classic music from the original, they should've spent another year or two in development making it a exact remake of the original

A team of 100-400 people usually means all the passion and charm is dead, quashed by delegation and crunch. The Insomniac Museum in this game doesn't have developer commentary, and Rift Apart doesn't even have an Insomniac Museum.

2nd comment: I do see the appeal of the new Ratchet and Clank games, as the graphics are so much better and details are on point but it's just not my kind of gameplay. In fact since the original, the franchise changed a LOT. In just about every way. But for those who grew up with the original games, we tend to prefer them over the new stuff because that's what we're familiar with. Things we love being changed like this just ruins it for us. As a matter of fact, did you know that the creators of the original game actually used the best graphics and technology that was available to video games back then? It was a brand new thing, and everyone thought it was the coolest!
