So this video took a little longer than expected to make. My goal was to focus on songs from the first 5 Ratchet and Clank games. I know not all of them are considered quote "relaxing". If they were at least chill or laid back was my goal to include them. I mean it's ratchet and clank a 3d platformer shooter, most songs are meant to be somewhat intense lol. Nevertheless I hope you enjoy watching :)

@@dylangahagan1487 I think he most likely got sacked because his orchestral style wasn't as organic as Salchow's or Bross'. Edit: He may also have gotten burnt out of composing for the R&C franchise (or video games in general), the games he composed for came out every year from 2002 to 2008 (2006 if you include Resistance: Fall of Man) so it wouldn't impress me since he values the quality of his music over quantity. My theory is that it was for both of these reasons.

I remember the reason why he left is that the music style he excelled in is not what Ted wanted for the future series. Im not 100% sure whether this is the case tho

There's something gritty about these soundtracks. They sound so massive and spacey but they're not gilded either, there's some darkness and severity to them. I think looking back that's a large reason why I liked the series so much, it had a good balance of tones. Modern R&C games feel a little too safe and bubbly with their soundtracks, but maybe that's just me

I agree. The music often has this focused, intently weaved industrial techno-sound: like an orbital factory conducting a symphony as it ticks along. That probably sounds off, but it's the best way I can put it with English as a secondary language.

Gemilk Base will always have atmosphere, especially seeing that Sun, and the other planets you've traveled to. My favorite part was finally getting rid of Qwark, me and little sis laughed our butts off when Qwark ejected from his ship. The funny thing, that I noticed was, that the scene is different after some playthroughs, the first time I did it, he ejected in the opposite direction,(hence the laughter) the next playthrough, he ejected in the direction of planet. 😂

@@phantasyryder The remake though was a tragedy of film tie in production. Development on the game halted as the movie production winded down and dev teams were shuffled to the next game only for the movie to get delayed for about a year. And what got developed in the first place was hacked and slashed repeatedly because of changes to the film.

Has always been my fav mission in the game. Everything from the atmosphere, music, and everything just in the level. It gave each planet its own character. But looking at the video, I find that the background art and having stuff constantly move and something going on combined with the ambience was a big reason why this world felt so alive and real.

So if I'm playing a game like Ratchet its got nothing to do with being challenged honestly, just how good it feels to relaxingly play through that world, the new Ratchet and Clanks don't really have that same magic as the older games though.

God the Ratchet PS2 games have so much soul. nobody is screaming in your ear and Ratchet isn't a bubbly cute lil guy. Still go back and play these all the time but i just can't replay Rift Apart. The vibes on these alien planets are so damn good.

there's just a charm that the PS2's ambience had that you don't get from the other consoles

I've listened to your Jak and Daxter playlist, and then this. I love them both and I'm going to check out the rest of your content. I particularly like how you chose songs that flow into eachother so well. Going a bit more intense sometimes before flowing back to something more chill. The use of ambient sound effects is also beautifully done.

Hey, a few days ago i was listening to a video of someone walking all over skyrim. Thought the guy was as mad as he was awesome for making this. Vid was flawless. Now, getting back memories from my childhood i searched for this game and found this video... Then i saw your name again. Buddy, you're a gem in this world. Never forget that.

Man... The R&C Saga will be always be in the most deepest sweet memories i ever had as a kid... (im 15 nowadays) I was used to play the whole saga starting with the first one when i was 7 yo and it was AWESOME AF!!! The same with the others! And i could play the complete saga (almost) since i didnt had the chance to own a PS4 to play R&C 2016 and Rift Apart yet... But i swear the music of the saga is the best thing that made me love the saga mostly tbh.

The amount of time and thought that's so clearly gone into this wonderful compilation is incredible 😳😊 ESPECIALLY love how you've included the backdrop of the level which the lovely music compliments so greatly 😄 Thank you very much 👍 Oh yeah, about 5:13:33 that's not the Ghost Station, that's Orxon 😜 And 5:42:47 isn't that Blackwater City? 😅😝

As a speedrunner of a few different ratchet and clank games, hearing the soundtracks is definitely one of the better parts about replaying the game casually. This series is just amazing in every way. Gameplay, environments, speedruns, characters, and of course the OST. Good shit man.

Really, Deadlocked focus more action imo, than the previous 3 games, it was fun for sure, and the hardest Ratchet and Clank game for me to beat next to a crack in time lol, the thing that was missing, was Clank. The game's gameplay focused on Ratchet without the need for Clank throughout the story, (for story reasons) Clank was really missing for me, it's my favorite ratchet game of course, but Ratchet and Clank, is really Ratchet and Clank.
