This is my absolute favorite Ratchet and Clank because of how adult the both of them act. The story line in my opinion is the best too because of the depth behind it. And Ratchets character design in this one makes him look far more like an adult, which I really like.

For me, the Future Saga is as good as it gets in the R&C series. I mean, I loved the PS2 games growing up, I still do, but there's something about the slightly upped drama and seriousness of the Future Saga that really clicks with me. It's like Insomniac was saying "Look, we can still be funny and exciting, but we can be smarter and more mature at the same time", and unlike Deadlocked, where I felt like they went too far, the Future Saga struck a very nice balance. I felt like I was seeing Ratchet and Clank both having grown up a bit, and acting accordingly, but the things that made them great in the first place are still there. It's not really all that more serious, but it doesn't have to be either: just a touch more drama and, I dare say, character, and it just really hits the sweet spot for me.

I've been with Ratchet and Clank from the beginning. I remember how much I thought Ratchet was a jerk in the first game and how happy I was to see him warm up to Clank. And it's been a pleasure seeing their friendship grow as the series continues onward. Which is why it puzzles me why anyone would want to go back to the old style of Ratchet and Clank story-telling. The series has taken phenomenal steps in crafting stories and characters and a universewith heart and personality while still being funny... not one-off stories geared at not being taken seriously. I just love how Insomniac has pushed the story and character elements in the newer games while still keeping the R&C humor. There's so many more stories that can be told in this universe. I'd hate to see characters as likeable as Ratchet and Clank just vanish.

I think the most tragic character in this game is Sigmund. He most likely thought of Orvis as a father too, and thought the world of time he had with him. I think Orvis took in Sigmund when he was by himself, so losing Orvis must've been a heartbreaking experience for Sigmund. And the fact that Orvis constantly talked about Clank probably made Sigmund believe Orvis didn't love him too, or at least value him as much as Clank. And not to mention he was all by himself after that, nobody to talk to until Nefarious brought Clank to the Great Clock. He also most likely blamed himself for Orvis's demise. So yeah uh, bring Sigmund back.

Alister’s VA really needs more voice work cause DAMN was he good in this role. It’s kinda chilling how the only one who ever successfully killed Ratchet (in one timeline) wasn’t one of Ratchet’s nemeses. It wasn’t Tachyon or Nefarious. It was Alister, who for all intents and purposes was his uncle/a father figure. And Ratchet died in that timeline to Alister betraying him and Clank leaving him forever. Then you have Clank who watched his best friend die, and had to endure six minutes of living in a universe where he failed his best friend in the worst way possible, then breaking his father’s number one rule (loophole notwithstanding) because that loss was too painful to bear. And he had the temporal immunity too so Clank will still remember that timeline. And have to live with it. Possibly on his own cause there’s nothing that showcases he ever tells Ratchet he rewound time or the reason why. Doubt he’d even have the heart to do so. Also the hug. Hugs are so sweet, and I want more platonic hugs in media. FRIENDS HUG LET THEM HUG IF IT MAKES SENSE FOR THEIR CHARACTERS IT IS GOOD CONTENT.

I think this was the last best Ratchet and Clank game, Insomniac lost their gripe afterwards. All the new ones e.g. All 4 One, Q-force are all half-assed and don't NEARLY add up to the expectations that Crack in Time had. Personally, I think this Ratchet was the best. He didn't look like a baby doll, like he does now.

What an absolutely wonderful game this was. When I first played tools of destruction and quest for booty in kindergarten with my dad, it absolutely blew our minds. I remember getting this game on Christmas morning, popping it into our launch model PS3, and...the console broke. Wouldn’t turn on. Must have been defective or something, and just gave out. So I had to wait a while until we got another ps3 to play this game. Crack in time was absolutely worth it. I’ll never forget the laughs, gorgeous visuals, and edge-of-your-seat action that my dad and I got to experience together thanks to these games.

Clank said if the clock were used improperly it could destroy the Galaxy. Saving the lombaxes would have caused a catastrophic effect on the Galaxy, which would have destroyed existence. The fo goods were limited to small encampments and were largely isolated from the Galaxy, so the shift would have been minimal.

using the clock's core time stabilizer as a time machine is bad. Using more minor functions to interract with time-space rifts to make wormholes to save a race that already messed with time enough to make said rifts (and screw over the cosmos, which is why the clock was built. to manage the damage THEY made.) is okay.

The original trilogy and the Future trilogy were some of the most fun and beautiful games I've ever played. I completed them all countless times. I'm glad that the R&C franchise is continuing, but now that it's been rebooted, none of this matters anymore, and that's sad. Will the reboot be as good as the older games? Will the franchise even continue after that? I surely hope so... Though they could have just ended the franchise with this game. It had a good, everything's solved and known ending. Few, if any questions remained. But we never got the answer to them, and may never will.

One of the best thing about this series is that it gives off a nostalgic Saturday morning cartoon vibe. I would rewatch the intro cutscene over and over just to hear the sound of the Hypersonic Brainwave Scrambler activating at 1:58. That quick beatbox sound that plays right before it activates. I love both the scene after the part where Ratchet uses the Nefarious disguise, and the scene right before the battle with him. Have his face after shouting "YOU... Should be DEAD!" as my phone home screen. Also that scene with Nefarious rehearsing his opera or whatever. Not necessarily because of the premise, but because the animators do such a fantastic job in doing his crazy and entertaining as all hell movements when he begins talking with Lawrence.

I remember being so sad when I beat this game because I was certain it was the last Ratchet and Clank game ever. So glad to see i was wrong and that after all these years that the game and the fans are just as dedicated as ever!! CAN'T WAIT FOR NEW RATCHET AND CLANK GAMES!
