Yes, Mark raises around 40k for charities, and he stated yesterday that the United Stand would be happy to step in and help raise the necessary funds. Maybe it would be a good way to start bringing together some of the social groups with the actual staff and players, even if it is former ones. Any organisation that is united will be more successful in the long run. Big Jim seems to be intent to doing the very opposite and dismantling the connections and nuts and bolts that hold this club together. The only way clubs can be protected from owners is by having a German style fan ownership model. I’ve always said this. It's never good to obsess with these kind of facts, but as rationally as possible...do a root analysis, and look at how things went wrong. Then we can learn, and try and avoid similar mistakes. I need more research myself, but during the 80's the Neoliberalism movement took off big time...promoting the advances of the big corporate company culture that was tied into the stock markets and stock exchange. These people gamble with ours and other's money in many ways; we have no control now over many things economically. And this led to the accelerated decimation of the nationalised industries and commodities...which ripped apart community working life in the UK. They bled Africa before that through farming rip-offs, and massive loans. It's a whirlpool of evil...and out of that dark blood-filled sea staggered folk like the Glazers...and Big Jim...who I believe was akin to the Russian oil tycoons...as he benefited greatly from the sale of British ICI. I need to research the exact facts...but it's clear that a small no of people made great gains from these big sell-offs of national interest and ownership...paid for mostly by a third income tax by low-paid workers. After all, it is well-known that big business found ways of dodging taxes, just as Jim does by living in Monaco. All this coincided with the plan to buy Utd...on the cheap, and as you said that opportunity arose through the issues between Sir Alex, and his business chums. Isn't there a saying, never look a gift horse in the...??? Anyway, that particular gift horse has done to Utd what the Greek horse did to Troy. Destroy from within. It's heart-breaking!

Jim Elms has done so much for the ex-players and the club. The way MFMUP have been treated is short-sighted and wrong. Over the last few years I been lucky enough to attend quite a few of the dinners they hold at Old Trafford as I am friends with one of the Old Boys and I do the driving and so on to ensure that he can get there. The event is always magic and I can see him come alive amongst all his old friends and comrades. To think that we could lose this is sickening for him. Losing that connection might just finish him off. I would never forgive Ratcliffe if that were to happen.

Although I'm a City supporter I have a friend who works for United(also a City supporter as it happens), worked there full time for 15 years or so. Has always said up until Ratcliffe it was the best employer he is ever worked for, they did everything right with their staff. Take this however you like and for what its worth the staff apparently have a lot of time for the Glazer family. Since last year and Ratcliffe, things haven't been great apparently and they have been told there will be significant lay-offs in the summer, can't imagine it's a happy place right now.

I know a lot of people who have or have worked for United and I think it’s accurate to say employees were much better looked after by the glazers. But trust me the Glazers ran United like a sweat shop and often reduced costs by removing high earners with long service. What Ratcliffe is doing though is on a totally different level. His cutbacks have no respect for legacy, history or people. In so doing he’s making employees really appreciate what they had when the glazers were running the show. JG

@@ManUtdTheReligion I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure my mate started at Old Trafford after the Glazers took over.. I will check. I would say though, in his defence this is something he has said for years, not just the last 9months or so.

It annoys me when a Guy like this and ex Players from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s who nowadays are struggling to survive, and cant pay for Operations, get funded by the Charities that are in place to support them. And they come out with the Quote regarding the current Players earning 300,000 per week, " Good Luck To Them" it should be " "Stuff them Greedy Bastards" Because its because of them the Ticket Prices are £66 for a child, and £ 120.00 for a Replica Shirt. Money Grabbing Parasites the lot of them.

Yes what a misery guts. Look at his face. Ebenezer Scrooge personified. His bsuiness M.O. is to buy $1.00 companies strip them down and retool them with new efficiencies. Watch out that he does not have it mind to get MU relegated and buy out the Glazers for a token price. Maybe he would even go as low as League One to do this (It happened to Leeds who still can;t afford to build a truly competitive team). MU need a benefactor type owner who has far too much money but wants to employ the right people with a winning mentality to create success. Scrooge will ruin the club becuase he is adding a dragging weight to it by making efficiencies that lowr the general morale of the club, which will ultimately feed through to the players. Scrooge is doing what he knwos and that is all he knows; stripping everything down to the bare minimum and it does not necessarily apply to a well run or successful fottball club.

Even our owners who we (wolves) have not best relationship at the moment haven't pulled this with our Charities. Ratcliffe is worth 23 billion. Even glaziers don't pull this . Terrible pr this
