@@yoshiko998 Yeah and like or not the people who actually do the work at those companies are the income sources for those companies and billionaires. Also you need to understand that ownership is not investment. When one person buys a stock/share of a company from another person. That is not investment that grows the economy. It is fundamentally different to actual investment, which is purchasing of resources, capital and employees, this is what actually grows the economy. This investment usually doesn't come from those billionaires or mega-corps, it comes from the companies previous year's profits. You know the part of the profits that isn't given to those billionaires as dividends for sitting on the sofa on their yachts, while the workers do the actual work. Very important to really understand this, that what Ratcliffe and his rich peers do isn't investment, in the way most people think of the word.

As a long term supporter from Manchester, someone who worked there, been to many matches. Went to the treble parade in 99, i have PLENTY of issues with our new part owners ineos. 1.. Ineos were done for dumping toxic waste into the Manchester ship canal. 2... hes a penny pinching billionaire who is telling people not to work from home and redundancies 3.. matchday staff are having the lunch packs provided taken away. Doesnt seem like a lot. But it really was, youndo long shifts on minimum wage and then this guy comes in and takes your lunch?? 4.. Fracking.. Sir Jim the monaco clown is responsible for the majority of frackin in the uk. He is one of eiropes biggest polluters. Hes about to build a huge new plastic plant in europe and spew waste into our skies. He only bought 27 percent, and was supposed to be football only ... so why is he taking lunches off people and sticking his grubby dirty billionaire hands into this club?? I met the man once in a central London pub in 2016. I had no idea who he was, I thought he was just a friendly older bloke who paid for our drinks and wanted to talk football. He was very interested in Ligue 1, asking interesting questions like “which lesser known French club would you buy if you could?” and “would you rather have a minority share in a big club, or own a smaller club in full?” (all with a view to making money ofc). Anyway, I said I’d buy Nice outright because of their recent success at the time and for total control over decisions. …Fast forward 2 years, and it’s announced that Nice have been bought by Britain’s richest man, with a picture of the guy I had a couple beers with and talked (what I had assumed was) tipsy nonsense to!

I think the thing that needs to be highlighted and emphasized more is that the period under Ferguson was the exception, rather than the norm for Manchester United. They've had a total of 3 managers who've won the league. Some guy in 1911, Busby and Ferguson. Thats it. United were the third or fourth most successful club when SAF took over. I truly believe that exceptionally long persiouif success will always weigh more when not successful. Arsenal had the banter era post Wenger, Chelsea went mad post Abramovich, and United seemed utterly lost 12 years after Fergie.

Any realistic and objective views on Man Utd will tell you that the current squad is overpaid and not good enough to be a top 4 club. No United director or manager is ever getting enough patience to properly rebuild like during Sir Alex Ferguson's first few seasons or Arteta's first few seasons. And until that doesn't happen we will never really do anything. We might get a good purple patch from new manager bounce like Ole or Ten Hag's first season but nothing is gonna happen unless this constant barage of negativity stops. The Ineos cycling team can mostly be seen as failure in recruitment (and retention - Carapaz, Adam Yates, Dani Martinez and Dylan Van Baarle), where the recruitment for the 2022 seasons and onwards have been either awful, decent domestiques, or young riders not ready for World Tour level. And since they don't have a development team, they are forced to sign riders such as Michael Leonard, Theodor Storm, Andrew August to the main squad, or risk another team getting them instead. There's also some bad luck involved with Chris Froome and Egan Bernal crashing in 2019 and 2022 respectively, and never regaining their former level. The death of Nicolas Portal (age 40), who was second to David Brailsford in the sporting structure, in 2020 may also play a role. With their scouting being all over the place, and the team not seeming as cohesive as they used to be, they need something new to happen on the sporting front. As for the stadium, had it been in my country, I'd want my government to do as you suggested. The taxpayers should own a percentage of the stadium equivalent to the part that's been paid.

I'm not going to pretend to be a Jim Ratcliffe fan, but the part about the stadium being funded by taxpayers is completely unfair and untrue. He said that the stadium will be completely funded by private money; he wants taxpayer investment to improve infrastructure in the local area around the club, i.e. transport to improve the flow of money into the area. Yes, that would help Manchester United financially, there's no point in denying that, but it would also help a lot of local businesses and residents. He asked for state money to invest in the parts he can't do privately. Personally, I don't like the idea of privately funded roads and tram lines, so I think it's a fair ask from him. Your pronunciation of Lausanne sounds far more like Lucerne, which is very confusing, as they are both Swiss teams that play in the same league, in the same colour. Lausanne is French-speaking so should sound something like "Lor-zann" in English and although Lucerne is German-speaking (Luzern in German), we have the English "Lucerne" for it, which you seemed to be using throughout to refer to Lausanne. Keep up the good work otherwise.

I watched nearly all the videos on the Ineos KZbin channel and it was immediately noticeable that Jim Ratcliffe came across as a disgusting arrogant and thoroughly unpleasant man. Bear in mind the videos were produced to show him in the best possible light. He is surrounded by 3 fawning sycophants who are clearly terrified of him. What was also very noticeable were his interactions with the 'shop floor' workers. He seemed very condescending and outright rude and unapproachable towards them, and you could tell he enjoyed it. Fair enough, he made a series of good business deals that made him a fortune, but clearly in the sports/business industry he is not the mastermind he believes he is. I said when he acquired part of Man Utd that the fans would end up despising him. I still stand by that.

Another brilliant analysis: thank you so much and 👍👌👏❤! Apart from Sir (?) Jim Ratcliffe's environmental and financial crimes, it is most irritating that ManU expect the cash strapped public (who have to pay taxes) to fund their new stadium. As they say, "You learn to save money with the rich." As a consequence, I have come to enjoy every time the team loses, buys forgettable players at horrendous fees and keeps paying them £300'000 a week 🤪. Please, please make this club go away or down where they belong 😊.

The fact that Utd's playing staff have been exempt from Ratcliffe's ruthless cost-cutting is fascinating. Especially given the fact that Utd's wage bill is (put kindly) bloated.

This is damn brilliant When United signed Yoro thwur fans were already talking that they are "loading up" and have "finally a good person at the helm" and "the clubs feels way more structured These claims have changed so fast, expecially for United-ians which immediately turn on the management (but basically on everything all the time as well, then they scapegoat the 100 million euro transfer they do very few years lol)

The only reason Man Utd have successfull in the 90s and 2000s was because they spent a quarter of a century with Ferguson. Obviously since then Utd are a shadow of the side they once were.

As a United fan I was interested to watch this. The problem is United are so big only a very rich person could afford to buy even a partial stake. Being a United fan from near Manchester, Ratcliffe was the best we could hope for. I don't like some of the things he's done either, but no one who has solid morals could afford it! It's still better than the Glazers destroying the club unchallenged (it's been thoroughly miserable and infuriating, and now at least we have some hope) It's way too early to judge the job INEOS have done at United. The ETH situation was difficult because of the Cup final win. A lot of fans lost perspective and wanted to keep him which meant it was difficult not to - they didn't want their first major decision to go against the fans. There's nothing wrong with looking at other options and then deciding to stick with what you've got. It's obvious ETH was on thin ice after finishing 8th. They've been smart in getting RVN as a coach who can takeover if ETH is sacked now, this time with the backing of most fans. I think you're too quick to judge - you don't know anything about running a football club or a large business. Sorting out the mess the Glazers have made will take a while, it's not as easy as you make out. Fair enough you're calling out his moral indiscretions, you're very good at what you do - but you get carried away sometimes (calling people clowns) when they are clearly intelligent and successful, and you have no experience in their line of work.
