Coward. Malort isn't good, but it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Jager, the Pernod, the Hilde, Angostura bitters all have a number of plant extracts that give them strong, complex flavors. Malort just has one flavor (bitter from wormwood) and a lot of it. A few dashes of Angostura really livens up a drink but you'd probably never drink a whole shot of it so keep that perspective.

Just to be very clear, Jeppson's Malort is hated by nearly everyone who drinks it. I have yet to try it, but as someone who is a very adventurous drinker, eater, and life events consumer, I really want to try it, but man alive everyone seems to despise it, so maybe not, when all is said and done.

Wild Turkey liqueur is great. It is just like the whiskey and honey my folks would give me when I had a sore throat or a cough way back in the day. I always hated it so much because of how it would burn, but by the third night or so my folks would get worried because I wanted more of it. The actual mixture made by Wild Turkey is like that, but so smooth and good . . .

Boss... You gotta try Disaronno... Great by itself... but also great mixed My personal recipe is to put two ice cubes in a whiskey glass, one shot of Disaronno, and top off with Sprite... Not 7-up, not Starry, Not Sierra Mist... Sprite... It's a great drink to pair with a nice cigar...

As a Chicago native, drinking Malort is a rite of passage, as well as a way of hazing out of towners.

You've gotta chase Malört with Old Style, not Pacifico.

Malört, or Malortt which you guys call it actually is pretty useful. We Swedes usually make it ourselves during the christmas season as the active herb, which also gives the iconic taste ( Artemisia absinthium) promotes digestion by activating your salivating glands.

Malört should be picked on the night of Bartholomew the 24 of august. (preferably standing on one leg and howling at the moon... *joke)
