I'd say what makes a good idle line is how it lends to the immersion. The reason Itto, Klee, and Childe's voice lines are so good is because it feels like the character talking to you; They're in character and treated like a conversation. I can absolutely see Klee and the Traveler walking through Mondstat as the Spark Knight reads her rules from Kaeya to them, or Childe leaning boredly against a tree as the Traveler runs off to chase a boar *again.* Kazuha, Albedo, and Zhongli's are middling; they're in character, but they aren't conversational. Kazuha's I can see being a conversation starter, but that doesn't work because the traveler can't respond, and Albedo and Zhongli are blatantly talking to themselves. Keqing, Aloy, and Raiden Shogun's are absolutely horrendous because yeah, they may be kinda in character, but it's very obvious the game is trying to get you engaged. Aloy's is the worst by far-- if you played the Horizon games, you'd know she's far more than a hero who's always running to find the next person to save. But yeah those were just my thoughts. Good tierlist 👍

I think that's the biggest problem with Eula's idle voicelines. There's nothing wrong about her character and her origin as an aristocrat in itself, that's quite the nice backstory. But her voicelines just try to drive the point home even though you already know all that shit about her. There's no natural reason for her to mention all that over and over again umprompted (unless she has issues of course).

I’m kind of more ok with “talking to yourself” lines. Heck, the kind I most enjoy are like reflections on the pause. I especially like Ayaka’s “how greedy of me,” since it really seems to capture her character. Which line is Zhongli talking to himself? He seems to talk very similarly to when he was sort of our guide in Liyue.

I love his voice line when it's raining "I don't need an umbrella, but you can use one if you want"(might not be 100% accurate I have a bad memory) The way he says it just feels so childish to me. It sounds like he's trying to act tough by not using an umbrella but then not wanting to shame you for using one. Idk might just be looking too much into this but I think it's cute

It's so sad how perfect everything about Qiqi is except for her gameplay. Her gameplay isn't even that bad, it's just slightly undertuned. With energy generation on her skill and shorter cooldowns, she'd be quite good. I'm still using her, I don't care.

Yess! I'm finding her quite good as a physical DPS and emergency healer because her movement is so fast and snappy, I forget that not all sword users are this coordinated besides maybe Keqing

@@leolesley7973 Hah, I once read somewhere that Qiqi and Keqing do use the same swordstyle canonically. xD I'm currently leveling my Qiqi as a support for Razor. There's a niche where I genuinely believe that she's the best character for the job. She applies cryo for superconduct, heals and does not force Razor into a circle on the ground as Diona or others would.

Qiqi is actually a great character, after you get her to C1 that is. Since she becomes an energy generator as well as a phenomenal healer that pops for 30k each time the bubble comes live

@@brupts7297 Does her C1 generate energy particles for the party or is that just energy that goes directly to just Qiqi? The description sounds like it's the latter. I'm still grinding clam for mine. I've read that superconduct can actually increase the damage of the bubble? I'm playing my Qiqi alongside Razor, so that would be pretty awesome.

You've just finished your commissions after farming domains and condensing your leftover resin, you try to gain that last star you're missing from spiral abyss just to fail miserably like the entirety of the days before... You're really eager to keep playing but you don't have any resin... You stand there for a while and then decide to open the map, there, that plus sign besides your resin stares at you... You click on it, you don't have any more fragile resin, you've spent your weekly transient resin on Monday's bosses... The only thing left is that evil looking Primogem option... You start thinking: "yeah I have enough wishes saved for - - -, I can spend a little bit of Primogems", you're about to do it... The unthinkable, but then... *COME ON, ENOUGH PROCRASTINATING, LET'S GO*, you've remembered, you have IRL work you haven't finished, no... SHE remembers... You finally snap out of it... And you decide to quit the game for the day... You've just been saved by keqing's extremely annoying voicelines once again, and you remember why you wasted those 12 bucks buying that skin that doesn't even give any special animations or effects for a character that underperforms in the most difficult types of content in the game... I was not bothered by idle voice lines that much but what was driving me crazy were the reaction voice lines. For example, Childe's comments when dashing. Or recently, Zhongli's monologue every time you teleport in Dragonspine. And he even says it with every single teleport, not just when you get there from outside. If they used them sparsely, something like up to once an hour, I'd be fine with them. But getting to listen to them all the time was too much for me and I now play with dialogs muted. Combat felt strange at first, I was kinda missing those battlecries but it wasn't that hard to get used to it.

The absoluty worst is Kokomi's dash for me. There's nothing wrong with what she says, but her voice sounds even squeakier than usual. It kinda sounds like they sped up the audiofile.

To me Diluc's voice lines are all relatively comforting. He was my first 5 star and I still consider him my main dps but since I use friendship teams in overworld to get every character to friendship 10, I rarely hear them, I mean its not like I idle in spiral abyss lol. Maybe its the nostalgia from my first days of playing that find a warm spot in my heart for them.

Tbh, if it weren’t for the Knights of Favonius passive-agressive line, Diluc would be one of my favorites. He soft and chill, he even offers to rest. But given that he’s my favorite character and has been my main for over an year now, that line makes my blood boil because HOW DARE YOU, ungrateful bastard. The few placements I totally disagree with: Kokomi: I loove her English voice. She's got that unique tone in her voice and just because of that I love it. Hu Tao: I hate her English voice :). Especially in comparison with Japanese or Korean, I don't think her English voice suits her. Also when the sun's out, when the moon's out... yo when the sun's out I switch to Japanese. Mona: Would probably put her even lower. Her lines are sooo boring and, again, I dislike her English voice in comparison to all other languages. Qiqi: Probably my favorite. Love her voice and her counting line still makes me laugh Klee: Nah, don't like her voice very much; 17 damn seconds. And it's boring 17 seconds. Nah Also I don't have Itto, but yeah. I see that. Max Mittelman just doesn't sound like he's voice acting. He stutters, has some weird timings, it sounds like he just said these lines to get into character and they took em. Probably the best English voice

I play in chinese but I would like to say that venti and albedo are by far my favorite. Even though I usually play them the most in the overworld, I will probably never get tired of venti wistfully thinking of cider, and albedo wanting to sketch. I also sometimes use kazuha, but not as often as the other two. His one about blades is kind of long though, and venti sounds a bit better to listen to. Hu Tao is also fairly high in my ranking, I think the the client line’s funny, and she actually sings the bathe in sun/moonlight line. I don’t leave most characters to idle other than those four, so that’s pretty much it

Diluc was my first five star and naturally my first DPS. So I heard his quotes a lot. Two of them annoyed me so much to the point I would answer angrily. "No diluc I'm not taking a break I want to play the game!" But I can imagine kqing would be very annoying.

As a Qiqi main I feel gratified the only line that mildly feels repetitive to me is the counting one but I don’t really care, meanwhile I’d say I agree with Keqing being annoying but I don’t mind aloy as much because I don’t hear it too often and her voice just goes through me less

I main Kaeya until AR 45, I hate his idle voice lines. Then I got Keqing well said, she is just 5 star Kaeya's voice lines. I'm still maining her but I learned my lessons to change the voiceover to Japanese so I can't understand a single god forsaken word they say.

In case if you rank idle animation in the future, the song Hutao sings is actually a Chinese nursery rhyme, and a VERY mess up one at that. But in the English dub they just reduced it to a simple baby song. Just look up "10 Rabbits". It's hiluchurls in Hutao's song instead, but everything else is the same

Keqing is definitely my least favorite to idle on, though if I had Xiao, he'd be #1. Itto also annoys me. Voice actor did a great job, but I find Itto's personality annoying. But back to Keqing. She can take her 9/9/6 lifestyle and shove it. The "inactivity" line of Raiden's is another one I dislike quite a bit, because it doesn't fit the character per se. She wanted an unchanging eternity. So why's she encouraging us to go out and do things? Lingering in a spot, enjoying it for a bit without trying to change things, if any character, she should be the one to appreciate it. My favorites, regardless of star status, are three of the shorties. Qiqi, Diona, Klee... they all rock. Qiqi's line about going someone colder is especially good when you're in Dragonspine with the bar all filled up, and silly zombie girl wants some place colder still.
