Tom Suozzi would have beaten George Santos this November even if the House hadn't expelled him. You don't end up sitting in court because you're selfish or even because you lie while campaigning. You end up sitting in court when you are reasonably accused of breaking the law, and a grand jury decides you belong there. The two have little to do with each other. This is important to note, since Trump would have us believe that the only reason he is sitting in court is that the Dems have it in for him to benefit themselves. If a grand jury had not decided to indict him, it would have made no difference whether that was true or not.

This is really annoying. The majority of people don’t see this as frivolous or political. To say that is very biased. To be blunt you can’t even say there is a majority but a plurality that this trial is important. Followed by the which hunt people then the idk people. The truth is as long as trump is insisting that he didn’t do the misdemeanors this is a losing case. He probably has a strong case on the felonies but not the misdemeanors. And had he been treated like a normal citizen the opening arguments would have had what he said in a press conference admitting to the misdemeanors.
