I hade an 84 VF1100S Sabre with the same engine layout as well and it needed done after about 20,000 miles. I won't get in to the cams and how some heads weren't line bored but later models were. If you do decide to lock the two brake pedals, look into a tractor setup. They have a brake for each side just like that to help you turn tighter. Is all it is is a flat bar that swings between the two pedals locking them when you want them to work together, and swing it up when you want independent. At least this would be the cheapest, easiest way to see how you like it. Nice build, good luck!

@adamr92155 жыл бұрын
jompa zx So you would want to replace a far stronger and less likely to leak AN line and fittings with junk? That’s stupid. The fittings and line I use is rated at 25,000psi, far higher than the brake system will need. Also, it’s been being done for 30+ years, and hydraulic systems were what AN fittings were designed for. If you actually think that cheap Chinese made rubber lines and fittings are better than properly made AN fittings and line, even a job at McDonalds would be above your mental capacity. That’s a bleak future.

@@adamr9215 Hey, What a fucking asshole you are! Just trying to spark a discussion here. and a AN fitting wont take 25000 pounds thats just bullshit, the line probobly does. but do you mean fucking pressed fittings or the ones you screw together at home? pressed ones probobly can take a verry high pressure. my point wasent about the hose but when you say AN fittings i thought of the ones you screw together at home without special tools.
@adamr92155 жыл бұрын
jompa zx Lmao, triggered much? When people talk out their asses about things they obviously don’t understand, I don’t have much reason to respond respectfully. Had you just said you were unaware of the pressure ratings, I would have given a more polite response. But yes, I do have some that are screw together that are rated for 25,000 psi. They are stainless instead of aluminum, and are aircraft grade for hydraulic systems. But, even the aluminum ones are rated for enough for automotive brake pressures, and would have zero problems on a low pressure system like is being used on this cart. Brake systems were part of the original reason for AN lines and fittings being created. Believe it or not, the “kind that you screw together at home” is actually stronger than a crimped fitting. Look up AN brake fittings on any major performance parts website like Summit or Jegs. They stock hundreds of them. If you want a polite response, ask a question instead of talking out of you ass. All that does is show everyone that you are a spoiled rotten kid who will never amount to anything.

Loving the build so far. If you run that front brake to a hand lever (like a parking brake style) you wont have to hold it with your foot while letting out on the clutch to do burnouts. Awesome dude, been watching this series close, also followed the channel for a while now. Love seeing what you’re doing. Just a couple quick Fabrication tips, that 90* angle at the back where the suspension mounts and the upper and lower frame rails meet is guaranteed to break. You probably already know that a 90* angle especially welded on tubing is a weak point. Also, I’m sure your shocks were the deciding factor, but man this thing would look mean if the overall height of the roof was lower about 6-8” or more. You’d still have plenty of room for helmet clearance but it would look better! Keep it up!!!!!!
@ryanwolfe9115 жыл бұрын
A suggestion with the brakes if I may...why not weld a bar from the rear brake pedal arm, that goes over top of the front brake pedal arm, that way when you step on the right (rear ) pedal, it will also push the front one down as well, so you have maximum braking power during normal driving, but when you want to, you can just push the left (front) pedal down independently

When you close it, you lockout the brakes that there line runs to, or press the brake pedal then close it, and lock the brakes on. Cheaper and simpler than the 4 pedal setup you've gone for.

For all intents and purposes in this case, a carburetor is a carburetor. If you were going from an 1100cc TWIN to a 1000cc FOUR, you'd need more and smaller carbs. You can get poly armor brake lines that can be bent reasonably by hand or by a cheap brake tube bender and do consistent bends. Since your master cylinders are hard mounted you'd only need flex hoses at the opposite ends. Running more hard lines will also aid in pedal feel. Also, you can get an adjustable brake proportioning valve and run both front and rear brakes on the same pedal. If you're concerned with being able to lock the front brakes to do burnouts look at adding a line lock for dragsters.

Welcome to my world building my 1987 Honda 700 Super Magna. Made it for one year, and is a rare little, and very fast little bike. Red lines at 10,000 RPMs. Starts to pull good at 7,000 RPMs. That is why we get the tools to make out own brake lines, for custom applications. Good luck trying to bleed those connectors you made to lengthen the lines. The brush is going to eat those brake lines up, that is why we use steel line with heavy duty rubber lines going to the wheels. So they don't get ripped off on the first bush you mow over, in the woods. Or get some steel braided lines going to the wheels. Or get ready to be replacing line all the time, and maybe having a real hard time getting back to camp to repair them on a ride. I can tell you this much, you're going to wish you had installed two front brake pedals, so it will help turning right and left. You're going to have to mount a fan on that radiator as well, so you will need brackets for that as well.

As a car mechanic i will said 2 things. Your radiator, if anything bad happens you don’t want hot coolant in your neck. 2nd you should have only one brake pedal for all 4 tires. You can install an adjustable proportion valve so you can do like 60% in the front tires and 40% for the rear for example and use a hand brake only for the rear tires

Ones front breaks Ones rear breaks Ones clutch One gas petal

I guess the brake arrangement works but a simple handbrake for the rear will allow you to use only one foot for brakes and the other for gas. Just a thought.
