I don't have the money nor the space for a table like this, but I have to admit: I am ASTONISHED by this table. Uau!! I have seen a lot of good tables but this one is something from another planet.

I’ve been following the progress of this table for a long time and the modularity and quality really appeal to me. Especially with the drawers and dividers, I’m hoping our family can share the space to enjoy different things together - some like arts and crafts (and the drawers will be great for that) and sone of want to play board games. Time away from screens hopefully. Slated to receive it December sometime 🤞

How big is the table? The large table is just shy of 4' x 6'. $1200 is probably on par for good quality dining room table of that size. All the "drawers" cost extra, of course. BUT getting a couple of good-quality folding tables will be much cheaper.

I think this is the most modular gaming table I've seen. Gaming tables are just so expensive.

You can use the table without the drawers. That way it is more simple: A normal table B normal table with cellar (4 wood pieces on top which are put in place with magnets C like b but with wooden leaves on top

I think the Rathskellers table is unique and I do not doubt the quality. My biggest complaint was actually the shipping cost to the US. I have been looking at tables for years and ended up with a Wyrmwood based on the last campaign. The look is clean and multiple choices of wood along with reasonable shipping sold me. Have fun with the new table 😀

Tom you should check out wyrmwood gaming tables. They just wrapped up a $8mil kickstarter for a modular gaming table. And more importantly checkout their wyrmlife web series....

Thats a beautiful table as well, its just a beast though, and I wasn't sure where to store the toppers. Rathskellers table has topper storage underneath which is a huge plus.

I just went in on the Origins table from Game Theory Tables...it's a bit cleaner, less complicated I think. We shall see when I get it in January whether I made the right decision :)

I have a table from Boardgametables.com and then I ended up getting a Table Topper. I think I am good as far as gaming tables for the next 10 years at least. This is an interesting table and I like the magnetic boxes.

I get enough AP from my games, last thing I need is AP when Im trying to buy a table and then set up the table in a configuration that works for everyone or every game. Also, $$$$...$.

I wonder if I'm the only one dying for a board game table that can transform from a 4 person table (each players sits on a side to themselves) to a 6 person table (2 players on the long sides and 1 each on the ends). Of course I would expect enough topper pieces to cover either 4 or 6 player extension. There are just some games that work better if you aren't seating sets of players side by side.

The Kickstarter for this table lists ship dates. For their high end tables, it was about a year from order to delivery. Worth every penny! (And it was a LOT of pennies)

I was so ready to buy this table, but when I saw that everything was "just" loose boxes on a flat table, I was so disappointed that I had to skip it. I think this is something they're trying to hide, but you can see it at 8:28...

oh boy they are not hiding it... There are magnets behind the boxes and attach to the bar. It the whole concept of modularity! I won't buy it now, but it's high on my wishliist.

Appreciate the overview. There has been a huge amount of recent table kickstarters and releases and this is easily my least favorite. Im sure some will love the modular aspect but I don't like it at all

Those cutouts on the outside of the drawers make the table look terrible, who wants holes in the side of their table when the cover is on. The drawers without covers look terrible. I looked for tables for about a year and the options from Rathskeller were amongst my least favorite. The look in this video gives a perfect example of why.

You might have an interesting point or 2, first I think they had to go with the notches since these boxes can go on either side and didn't want a "knob" to stick out into the center of the game area if you flipped the same box around to the inside. You want to be able to pull each individual box off its magnetic bearings so you need something to grip it. That said lets say you haven't opened these boxes in eons, since you were for the most part happy with the top insert choice, and then later decide to take the top off. The notch will at the very least let dust inside and worst I leave to your imagination as to what critters might have decided it made a very nice home. It does seem the way this video is presented that you would take off all these box covers to put on the top which means if you have had the top on for awhile and finally take the top off that you are going to have to be a bit sensitive to what might be contained in the boxes before grabbing your lids. One other note is that as TV suggested he wanted to decide which tops would be used where and settle in on that layout instead of the AP of all the choices but as near as I can tell when you want to put the topper on the table you are taking the tops of the boxes off which means all your attempts and getting just the right box tops in just the right places goes out the window. Every video I could find of the sunnygeaks shows this process of removing the box lids and then laying the table pieces on top. It seems like the puffy tops would be too high for the table pieces to lay out top correctly. So you have to resign yourself to removing them to put the table on top, eat dinner or lunch, then take the top off and then put in all the box pieces... on one hand this gets you a lot of flexibility but on the other it costs you a lot of time. Sorta reminds me of board games with zip lock bags holding the parts vs a fancy 3rd party insert where everything is ready to put on the table for you. The difference in game setup time between those options can be on the order of 2-15 mins for some games. I feel like this modular approach is going to add 5 mins or so to your setup time depending on whether you have to consider cleaning/dusting each box off and so forth. The metal legs is a new contemporary touch and the simplicity of building the table (adding the legs) looks super easy and robust.

I'm sure others will love it, but I think the aesthetics of this table just look awful. I get the idea of having the flexibility of using the "drawers" if you want, but I just think it looks really awkward and uncomfortable to use.

It is subjective - this is one of the first gaming tables that I’ve liked the look of. I like the minimalism and combination of metal and wood.

I don't know. To me this whole magnetic modular thing is a turn off. Looks like a cheap gimmick, I really doubt most people ever needing 20 trays around the table, and overall look of the table is not clean. Those holes around the edges are not nice, and the pieces not aligning because of magnets is an issue. Also looking at the price on KS, this is super expensive, and those modules are driving up the price real fast.

yeah I was all for it when I thought the 999 euro price was with just basic drawers included to make the table complete. But then you need the drawers for an extra $350 USD, then you cant use the dining top without the lids on the drawers coming off (INSANE oversight...so stupid) so now you need to store those. Ok they make these $100+ bins for that...but wait, they dont hold the cupholder inserts lol. So this 999 euro table ended up at like $2k before being functional, and then there's shipping on top of it from EU to the US...hard no at that point for me

I'm not impressed by what Rathskellers is offering here. I suspect this product is quite niche as it's unlikely there are many that NEED this level of modularity. Is it at all necessary to have magnetic boxes on the inside surface of the table? The major issue with this table in my opinion, is the aesthetics. It's extreme approach to modularity has resulted in a product that looks cheap, fiddly, and unpolished. The oval arm rests design date and cheapen the look of what is supposed to be a luxury product. Also, will I need to apply those arm rests every time I remove and put on the table cover?... I hope not!
