This was a classic episode of idiotness. Schulz does another masterful job of not paying attention to anything Charla is saying and just spending the entire podcast thinking of words to make a dick joke. I was just watching Schulz face the entire time trying to see when the word popped into his head and when it was coming.

About the Danny M grape cases, it is so especially creepy thinking about how according to witnesses his now wife KNEW what he was doing and protected him. And with her family history it feels extra sick. And if I read the victims statements correctly and how some ppl from that same eras scene in LA now have come forward with experiences of how they saw friends that only had 1-2 drinks totally black out and lose bodily control at houses where Danny held after parties/poker games. And thought it was strange back then, but didn’t for sure see it connected to him or possible SA? Until the victims statements now are revealed. Like being so roofied that they passed out on a bed, and one victim having a gun placed beside her on the bed during the r*pe at the moment someone were at the door so she would stay quiet. That level of planning (having drugs to make a victim not being able to fight back, to black out) and having a weapon to threaten into silence. I think that is partly why it became a long sentence. And plus the victims in Scientology did not have an easy time going through the legal system since the church did not allow them to go to the police and report grape. So they were silenced for a long time. It is a messy soup of protecting their member Danny and his family. If it was not for that sect, probably it would have been unfolded in a different way.

How Charlamagne doesn't understand why all this shit is being dug up on Ashton Kutcher is beyond me. His friend waa convicted of RAPE, he wrote a character letter, which are ketters writen after conviction but prior to sentencing seeking leniency. Ashton runs an anti-sex trafficking non-profit so people were perplexed why he would do such a thing. Well they dig up all that old shit to prove maybe he's a hypocrite. The fact that a lot of those jokes "about waiting for people to turn 18" flew on American tv at the time is a reason why most people(most women) want a reckoning and I absolutely understand. I watched those things live at the time as an almost 18 year old myself and I actually did cringe at those jokes then. They were not right then, and they are not right now. Blame my ultra religious upbringing for scoffing at those things at the time but that sure saved me from a lot of situations, especially when I then went into media at 20 and got exposed to a lot of silly stuff. Stuff I would have supported and probably done as a man if I was raised otherwise
@shaun5047 Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately those jokes were not only tolerated by Men but also Women. I definitely think those comments are super creepy but I also side with what Andrew and Charla were speaking on. That you can’t just blame the talent bc all of those jokes had to pass by an entire industry that ok’d it. I definitely remember when Britney was huge and it was a super common to hear everyone say they couldn’t wait till she was 18. To be fair to everyone, that was a strange situation bc whoever produced her music videos definitely understood the assignment and it was anything but innocent
@ihavenoidea2616 Жыл бұрын
agreed but then wheres the reckoning for everyone else, the blatant chinese/mexican/african american/ect racism joked on by television networks. Wheres the reckoning for the 13yr old girls karl malone was with. Once we give it to one group then everyone else is going to want it. Im for lets deal with whats going on today. Im black & i dont fucking believe in reparations. just repair whats already/been broken. Same with the way we (society) (MEN & WOMEN BOTH) sexualize women.
@xelaander8429 Жыл бұрын
@@shaun5047 Exactly the ENTIRE industry actively promoted these things, I remember even when Rihanna came on the scene at about 19 and I saw some of the videos and I was like "she's too young for this" The entire industry, consisting of MEN and WOMEN okay'd all of this
