First video game I ever played was Morrowind. I was probably 9 or 10 years old. We picked up the GOTY edition around 2004. It was on a windows vista desktop with like 2 gigs of ram and a 6gb hard drive. Me and my brother probably spent more time swapping out hardware than actually playing the game. But I can’t tell you the immense satisfaction after weeks of working on that computer to step out into Seyda Neen for the first time to see what was crisp 3D graphics for the time. Every time I hear that game’s name, it takes me back to sitting in my parents’ basement playing or watching my brother play. I have unknown amounts of hours in that game, and I don’t think I ever finished it. I would just wonder around marveling at this insane foreign world. Oblivion and Skyrim while wonderful games have never been able to capture me like Morrowind did. The setting and story was just a little too generic and familiar. I don’t have much time for video games anymore and my gaming rig is currently out of commission. I got on an elder scrolls kick tonight and stumbled upon your channel. All I can say is thank you for the TES content and a wonderful trip down memory lane! Edit: totally agree about the modding community for Skyrim. My favorite thing to do wad mod out Skyrim and play as an NPC. Best plot I came up with was a mage stranded in the frozen wilderness and had to make it back to civilization. Frostfall made this excruciatingly difficult. I think that character ultimately founded a school of magic and took in orphans. Never touched the main quest. I think the only quest line I played was for the College of Winterhold.

People keep hating on Morrowind's movement speed, but all you have to do is B-line it to the boots of blinding speed and then you move faster than any other TES game. Like yeah when you just open Morrowind for the first time it feels like you're crawling, but it's also the game that lets you fly around the map at mach speed and nuke villages from orbit. You can literally roleplay as a B-52 Bomber.

First, i have to say i got into TES with Skyrim, like 3 years after it's release. Technically i tried Morrowind before, but i was too young. So for me, the order was reversed: Skyrim, Oblivion, and then(kinda) Morrowind. So i can not comment on games before Morrowind and mobile games, but honestly, i have no desire to even try them. Now to the video: I agree with you about Skyrim completely. With mods, it is absolutely the best game i have ever played(technically sharing 1st place with GTA San Andreas, but still). The story is... Just meh. With DLCs, Dragonborn is kinda okay, although i hate that world with the keepers and annoying black skeleton-souls. Heartfire is absolutely the worst on my list, as it is a simple money grab. Now, if it also added the ability to HAVE children with your spouse(no adult themed stuff, just have a black screen), children that grow up(they can make up some magical excuse), with it's own missions and traits you can influence by making choices, i would say it's better than Dragonborn DLC. But as it is, Heartfire DLC is just a moneygrab. Now, story-wise, i would have to say i have to pick Oblivion. Yes the graphics, voice acting and bugs are a problem, but at the end, the story is really complex(even though shutting Oblivion gates gets boring after the first few times). Thank God for fast travel though, with it they seriously increased replayability of the game(and later also Skyrim). Without that, i would probably not play Oblivion nor Skyrim more than 2-3 times. They missed a lot of opportunities with the Knights of the Nine DLC though. For example the whole Umariil storyline could have been much better. If they gave the Heartland Elves a bigger role, give you a choice to acrually join them(even if they made you switch sides at the end), maybe even involve Meridia, now that would have been a very good DLC. Maybe even the best. Morrowind in my opinion is just too hard. Now sure the story is nice, but the controls and lack of fast travel made sure that i never actually fully complete the main storyline. And i totaly agree with you on the movement speed, that is so annoying. Overal, Skyrim has the best replayability for me, while Oblivion has the best (written) storyline.

Solid points here definitely agree with you pounts on Knights of the Nine and i definitely agree with you on the outdated systems in Morrowind really bogging down the game

@@infinitybreak4459 Edit: Also, you can answer a question of top 3 daedra you would support, and why. This is more of a philosophical question, but i personally find those kind of discussions fun. That reminds me, maybe you can rank the Daedra in one of your future videos. It would be interesting to see what you think. You could also take into account their backstories, motives and power, not just representations in the games. P.S. I know a lot of people do this, so sorry if you already did the video, i just couldn't find it.

I actually found the combat a massive downgrade going from daggerfall to morrowind Even if both are about dice rolls, the hit calculation had clear changes from one to another to the point im not consistently hitting anything in morrowind until im about level 6-7 meanwhile hitting always stop being a problem at level 2 in daggerfall in every playtrought. Daggerfall is the only tes game i could find fun actually My list would be something like: S: A: B: Daggerfall C: Skyrim D: Morrowind, Oblivion E: Battlespire F: Arena, Redguard Not taking mods into consideration. I like to account for the toolset but not for the quality of the mods and while i like the creation kit, i dont think its any better than something like what Neverwinter nights used to have nor minecraft as it is (its surprinsginly easy to mod for Minecraft)

Skyrim was the worst by far out of the main quintet imo. It was the most shallow and gutted the most content. Over 200 spells were removed since oblivion and even more content like skills, spell crafting, even stats and actual atributes and birth signs were all dumbed down and stripped. The most repetitive quests ever, vampires and werewolves both sucked and were horrible, the main skill tree was very bare bones and lack luster, (99% of all the perks are just this spell costs less this weapon or armore deals more damage or protects more) all the daedric artifacts were awful. Seriously it was so bad that you can just buy a normal bow from a merchant that out scakes aurels bow. You know the fuckkkimg this that blacks out the sun? Yeah....they never scaled well, any of them even at max level scaling (60) they are all awful stat wise its so disheartening. The magic system was HORRIBLE. Master spells were all useless at end game and could never be duel casted and all had a 3 second start up animation and were all outclassed by simply duel casting their expert level counterparts and all magic never scaled at all. Seriously did you know that none of your magic scales in effectiveness at any level? Thats insane. Shouts were bad. They also didn't scale and 99% of them were also useless are just "tool box" utility that was outclassed by enchantments. Tldr: I hate skyrim. It's bad. Sorry for rant. I grew up with morrowind and oblivion and fell in love with classic elder scrolls. Saw what they did in skyrim and was appalled.
