holy crap THANK U for addressing the watermark obsession artists have. some people are putting more work and thought into watermarking their art than drawing it i swear. if someone REALLY wants to steal your work, they will find a way around your watermark. 11:00 To be honest I kind of prefer this over distracting watermarks. It's better to work the watermark into the composition so even if someone would remove it would be extremely noticeable because it'd leave a huge dead space.
@kuraimegami_rica2 жыл бұрын
The artist wrote very visible on the screen that they have two watermarks though. One visible and one that art thiefs might overlook or don't bother to remove, so it's easier to prove the origin
@AniMesuro2 жыл бұрын
@@kuraimegami_rica Then I agree with Sam, but at the opposite argument. The composition one is cool, the distractive one just works against the composition.
@kuraimegami_rica2 жыл бұрын

7:30 YES!!! I know tracing is very looked down upon in the art community, but seriosly, if you dont post traced art with no credit, youre fine to trace. I used to trace my cousin who traced terenry rm (and yes, i did post the traced art, that was 4 years ago) i got the muscle memory to improve QUICK. in 4 years (started in 2018) i got from making shaky lineart and simple ocs with no color theory with one color really bright bgs to fully shaded, complicated scenes with cleaner lines, all because i traced for like a month. Its a great thing to do, if you trace someone who has the art style you want on your own time without posting it, i really think it would help

1:40 Honestly when it comes to creative block, that tip is actually incredible, like I absolutely despise abstract, but sometimes when I really don't have any motivation, just start doodling and suddenly you will see a shape and think, "ohh, shark with a top hat" if I run away from my responsibilities there will go about 2 months before I even touch a pencil and I don't like it.

I developed my art style by most of the cartoons I watched most of my childhood and some anime throughout that time of my life, I also looked at fan art of things I enjoyed and the more of the art I found the more I started to draw what felt right to me, I found out I really enjoyed drawing in a cartoonish type of style, when I started to draw(age 3-6) I drew a oval-ish cricle(that doesn’t make sense I know) as the head shape, and as I grew older I started to draw the head with a curve to represent where the cheek is, I also found out that I can only draw a more anime-like art style when I have a lot of inspiration and motivation(which is really hard to have both at the same time)on digital and on paper

you got me at 5:55... I've studied art, and I practice it very lightly. I won't call myself deeply invested in art. But I don't think there's a checklist for artists and what they "need/must" know. There are common basics, and the rest is just pure interest and personally developed knowledge - that being either self-taught from experience or educationally gained knowledge. Artists, even throughout history, almost did not attend any college or get any "formal" education. Leonardo Da Vinci developed his own theories and understanding of human anatomy. Looking today, there is more knowledge built-up, sort of a database, but that does not necessitate any artist to know/learn it. You can go about your journey in your own way. I love your videos, and your comments are to a level helpful, so thank you for all that you're trying to do and all the help you're trying to give to other artists.
